Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 3

I don't think those results quite equat to 80% packet loss... You are not getting a reply from 83% of packats on the 12th Hop, but that could be because ICMP traffic is being dropped which doesn't necessarily mean your UDP and HTTP traffic is suffering 80% packet loss.

It is funny only on Afrihost I get packet loss my program says packet loss

That's perfect, your computer is pulling the DNS from the DHCP gateway which should be the settings from the modem.

You will then have the Modem on Automatic DNS which means it will use the Afrihost DNS. :)

Was fine for about an hour, then it went back to **** again

We certainly don't advocate any sort of bullying or personal attacks of any kind - we are very much against that. I'm sorry if you felt that way.

Your silence when your rabid fanboys dig into others says the exact opposite. If you're truly sincere, you'd ask them to stop bullying too. Bullying is only a problem to AfriHost when the person in question is not an AH fan.

Case in point:

If you aren't happy with your results why not just use another ISP? Over the last few days you seem to be the only one who's constantly reporting issues.

not just the last few days, try the last year :D. Many others have already mentioned the same as what you are, but its not working. :o

You didn't say a word about this. Even the forum moderator asked the users to cease, but they persist. AfriHost doesn't say a word about it.

Here we go again. We merely asked the user if its not a better idea to move isp's if he is still struggling. This was said so many times, and it was us trying to help him. The user himself stated that its only on AH that he has these problems a few posts up, so why in the world would you stick around, when you are fine on another isp?

You moved yet you still have some form of agenda. be happy, its a new year. Not even sure why you came on to gloat about your speeds, and showing us a SP thats not AH. In fact, if you were convinced it was an Afrihost issue, why did you decide to move with im assuming a wireless provider (wisp) and not another Adsl one?

And i see you edited your post, good one. Wonder why you felt the need to edit your post. Should have left it so others could have seen it

And btw i dont see why the mods should ask us to refrain from assisting or discussing certain AH issues. We are AH clients, and we have been engaging in this manner for a long time now.

If thats the case, then why can a vox user respond to a vox issue when there is a rep, likewise on Webafrica, Mweb and Axxess etc Is this whats good for the one and bad for the other? Certain users its okay for them to respond to others, but for others its a problem?

Hey everyone Happy New Year, my internet experience over the holiday period was mostly great.

I've been having throughput issues with Twitch as of late, can you confirm this on your end AH.

If you are talking about Twitch Issues as you posted this then yes, Twitch itself is having a huge network issue that is affecting random people in different regions as of still right now.

You probably missed that I posted a general message just prior to this, not directed at any user, asking that we keep the discussion on point and that we play nice together. We definitely want to keep the threads constructive and positive.

But let's be honest, there are forum users who never post in our thread unless it's to be negative and counter-productive (while not showing any interest in finding solutions, some are probably not even clients) and that really derails the conversation. This might be the nature of forums, but we certainly are hopeful that we can overcome this and keep this thread as a vibrant and constructive channel to make the Afrihost broadband experience as amazing as we know it can be.

We are only interested in moving forward and finding solutions together.

This is not the case
You never solve the problem I have
and tell me the other users do me a favour to tell me to leave Afrihost
I expect a more professional approach by an Internet provider when user complaining I find Afrihost is not interested in Solving problems
You never answer my question only tell me you have don every thing
This is not thru I have not see any improvement in the evening in Cape Town Pop
Then you reps telling me last night packet loss shows in Visual Route at not packet loss
I Post stats every evening in the last 3 evening and not ones you answer the post with a willingness to try to fix you only tell you have trying for 3 month and is my problem
My line is fine I upgraded the line to 40 mb VDSL and it was tested

I,m not willing to leave but Afrihost lost my trust 1 1/2 years ago when you was not willing to accept you have a capacity problem and for 5 month I was haven the same problem I have know and you have give the same answer
I,m waiting for the comments of the fan boys

Stop with the fan boy talk. You yourself said that its ONLY Afrihost that gives you a problem. If we were so called fan boys, why are we encouraging you to seek an alternative? Again, you get aggressive in your comments, when people try and assist you.

This is the answer I was waiting for thanks

Let the official Afrihost reps sort out their customers' issues please.

You can take your banter to other "non-official" threads.

I totally appreciate that you are wanting to stay an Afrihost client, and none of the reps have ever asked you to leave. That's really not what we're about, except in very extreme circumstances.

However, we have put many resources at your disposal to try to improve your experience, and I'm not sure where else we can go to. As I mentioned, you made some very unpleasant remarks about the Critical Care team who have tried more than once to help you, and have now taken to multiple social media platforms to make negative remarks about Afrihost, our support team and our network. At some point we need to move forward, in one way or another.

We don't want you to be stuck with a service that doesn't work for you, so the best we can do is try to improve your experience until we've run out of resources and ideas. After that, it's totally in your hands :(

Let's chat on PM, and try to resolve this in the best way possible. I am sure the rest of the forum members here will appreciate us dealing with it in that manner so that the public threads can stay on point :)

I know this boggles your mind, but you're not an AfriHost rep. It's really absolutely none of your business what other people post in this thread, why they choose to stay with AfriHost or what their issues are. That's the core of what is being driven home here. Any time someone complains you and your band of merry fanboys jump on them with "why don't you move" or "no issues my side". It's the PostManPot/Mweb issue all over again. "Backseat" ISP reps.

In fact, if you were convinced it was an Afrihost issue, why did you decide to move with im assuming a wireless provider (wisp) and not another Adsl one?

Assumption is the mother of all screwups, amiright. Fibre, baby.

And i see you edited your post, good one. Wonder why you felt the need to edit your post. Should have left it so others could have seen it

Remove the very last sentence and you'll see it the way it was before the edit.

Because you're not an ISP rep and your passive-aggressiveness causes customers with legitimate complaints more anger?

If thats the case, then why can a vox user respond to a vox issue when there is a rep, likewise on Webafrica, Mweb and Axxess etc Is this whats good for the one and bad for the other? Certain users its okay for them to respond to others, but for others its a problem?

Did you simply not notice the fallout when PostManPot was called out for doing precisely what you're doing here, in the Mweb threads? PostManPot doesn't even post here anymore because he got burned so bad. People were complaining they didn't even want to post in the Mweb threads anymore because PMP would be there to provide them with 'support'. I know for a fact the same is happening here as people have told me so directly.

IMO, MyBB needs to lock down all feedback threads so that users can only post their issues and have the ISP reps respond. This thing where random users can post their 'support' and 'advice' and behave like absolutely twats is a double-standard if you consider that all other posts (such as this one) gets shut down. These threads are here for support from the official forum reps. If fanboys want to banter or give 'advice' they should be forced to do so in separate threads. Why MyBB, and by extension AfriHost considering the amount of sway they have with management, allows fans to behave the way they do boggles the mind. It causes frustration to legitimate customers trying to get support and feedback and more often than not leads to fights.

MyBB really needs to consider putting an end to backseat ISP repping in the official ISP feedback threads.
