Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 3

Ok, it's reflecting Shaped Capped now. If I change it to Unshaped , will that apply to the (18) free hours as well ?

You will need to upgrade a package that costs more than your current package to ensure that you get the 18-hours Free-Time immediately.

Question, since capped is now shaped, do AH+ clients qualify for the turbo charge option to avoid all shaping for a certain time?

And some feedback, can we change from Shaped to Unshaped with a click of the button as in, without changing the package itself? Like have a unshaped box that needs to be ticked under additional services with a note attached saying to qualify, you will lose 50% bandwidth. It makes things a lot easier

Ooooooo! My apologies! :)

If you are on a Unshaped Capped account, you won't be shaped at all, and this applies to Free-Time as well.
If you're on a shaped capped account, does this also apply to free time?

You put me through to critical care, wasn't able to game yesterday for them as family matters came up, gaming today and got high packet loss at times from 6:30pm, extreme at 7:04pm.
Going to try another game and see what happens.

The packet loss is introduced: if-ae-19-2.tcore2.L78-London.as6453.net (26%) and cpt-up1.ip.adsl.co.za (3-4%). Also pinging bras.afrihost.com at the same time, 21ms near constant, sometimes 24ms outliers (1 in 100 pings).

Shaping could be applied to your Free-Time if you are on a Shaped Capped account, yes.

Could you send those details through our Critical Care Team so that they could take a look at those results.

At the moment the plan is to only shape the Shaped Capped accounts as a very last resort, so Turbocharge isn't something that will be needed.

At the moment you will need to choose a package that costs more than your current DSL package to be immediately switched to the Unshaped product, similar to how our other product upgrades and downgrades work.

Hey

My internet is at it again, super high latency, websites taking forever to load, etc.

I reported the same thing yesterday on "if-ae-11-2.tcore1.L78-London.as6453.net" at 10%.

I got one reply from support asking for more test which I did and haven’t heard back from them in 23 hours now.

Is it only during this time?

Could be congestion.

All of a sudden? I haven't had this issue for the past several months. And I don't believe that from December to now that there were enough signups to screw over the exchange.

Or maybe you're right. Is there a way to know/see/find out?

I've done a few pings now and get between 25 and 75% packet loss.

No option to upload screenshots on support tickets. Might be something you could add.

Im not saying its definitely congestion. But that high latency at this time is pretty bad. Maybe give Telkom a call, and ask them what is the capacity like at the exchange that you are connected to
