Afrihost New Network Feedback - Part 3

Exactly

Now run those same tests after 11pm with your AH account and I bet your speeds are back to normal.

Bud I hear you, I'm actually not really phased - I am just proving a point, they blame client side, but it's not.
Tomorrow Octotel are coming to install FIBRE at my flat, my time with this BS is coming to a end.

What really pisses me off, is for the last 2 weeks, I've been unable to play "The Division" because I have serious LAG and each time I call AH and complain, they blame me or that I have latency on exchange blah blah blah.
These guys think they are talking to some idiot that calls in for a 'port reset'

I can change to ANY account other than Afrihost and it works like a bomb but that's avoiding the problem instead of fixing it but they clearly not interested in fixing it because whatever they do on their side is always a temp fix.

Wow, are those really the international speeds on a 40Mbps VDSL line? :/

This is what I'm getting atm on a 20Mbps line:

Thats impressive. My speeds earlier this evening on a 20mbps line was around 16mbps and latency 9ms local and 180ms international. I thought Kohltor was 20mbps as well, if he is on 40mbps vdsl then hmm those speeds seem a bit off there

Man there is something funky going on with Twitch/Afrihost tonight...

Not getting above 2-3Mb/s, have to resort to switching to Vox account, now up to ~9Mbps and able to stream again...

Traffic graph - right side was a livestream on Afrihost / left side was the same stream after connecting to Vox

EDIT: Speedtest to UK fluctuating quite a bit?

Why don't you assist me by explaining why between 6-11pm every night I get less than half the line speed I pay for? I still haven't received an answer besides all my posts and screenshots.

By the way... fastpath will affect the line sync pushing it higher and lowering his latency.

I'm not aware of any network issues last night which would reduce your line speed by 50%. Please feel free to PM me your account details so I can run through a few checks. :)

Not aware of any streaming issues last night. After you switched to another ISP's account did you see the connection degrade at all after a while?

Nope, it ran fine... have a look at the traffic graph in my tests above and see the difference?

Also, can you explain the strange speedtest results? There was definitely something going on last night. Latency remained fine while throughput was fluctuating horribly.

You guys somehow are never aware of anything
