Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Openserve, Centurion.

Trying to port forward but 443 does not seem to work. 80 works fine. Any ideas?

Why is the slow firbre connection still not fixed? This is crazy I have been having internet connection problems since the 20th November 2022.
Anyboddy else on Vumatel Villages / Ariel having slow internet?

20 to 10 on a Saturday night and I must deal with internet issues. Already did a 4 minute power off of the ONT and it's poked again. Wife complaining that the TV won't even connect

Vuma Villages will forever be a problem it seems
Vuma Aerial in Florida Glen same problem since Friday.

Vuma closed ticket to say it's resolved. Pathetic service, can't stream or download properly and I'm paying for a 1Gbps service:mad::mad:

How long do we have to wait for this issue to be resolved?

Below test was conducted connected directly to ONT.

I have been on phone several times with Afrihost and I'm getting nowhere with Vuma.

@AfriNatic and @Afrigirl have sent you DM's as well.

Something is definitely up with the connection, trying to play Apex Legends and for the past 3 nights the packet loss to all servers has been horrible.

Playing on PS5 wired to the router by ethernet so it's not a wifi issue.
Same issues. On all servers. When I change to an LTE or 5g wireless connection the game runs smoothly. So its not an issue on the Apex server side.
Afrihost isnt useful for me, they just ask to ping local servers and to do speed tests which come back clean, but yet theres an obvious issue.

Did you find a solution to this?

What's interesting is if one connects to a VPN (NordVPN) in my case, speeds improve on Speedtest up to 400Mbps download which is also the normal speed I get when Afrihost's line is at 1Gbps.

I think there is a routing issue and/or some sort of "throttling" going on despite the lines been declared "pure"...

(My fibre at work also on Afrihost and Vuma Aerial1 Gbps is perfect.)

No solution, still waiting for a response from the Afrihost reps here on the forum.

Hi.

The line is not throttled or shaped. We have logged 2 tickets with Vuma to advise on the speed issues and if they can re-provision the line to the correct speed.

Hi @Afrigirl - it is not just speed issues, it appears that the connection is not stable at all. Constant packet loss while gaming, Youtube vidoes not buffering, Twitch streams interrupted continuously.

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic MFN 500/500. Where did my upload speed run off to?

Hi

There is an issue with the cross-connect. We did change sfp's and cabling this morning at 3 am but the issue persists. We have scheduled another emergency change for 1am tomorrow morning to see if we can find the issue.

Hi @Afrigirl and @AfriNatic

What is going on why is this happening every night? The ticket said it was congestion. Why are we having congestion and why is not being fixed?
This has been going nearly every day on since the 20th of October.
