Eventually called, can't seem to figure it out. System will not give me an ipaddress. Frogfoot have to get involved.

Migration is painful.

I believe that Afrihost uses DHCP on Frogfoot. You have set that correctly in the router right?

Mine was a Vumatel Aerial portal error issue. Once they sorted that out, I was good to go with Afrihost.
Many back and forth emails, whatsapp communication and call-me-backs before that happened, though.

I’m having Vumatel migration issues as well. It’s now 48 hours without Internet. Some of the Afrihost support staff are poor. They have no clue and just say the first thing that they can think of.
Do you have a Vumatel contact who helped you?

Thanks for reply. I confirmed with them that they have sent through the request. It's octotel, maybe they take longer than others? Anyhoo annoying coz it's after 5 so no support when I'm home.

The process should be the same for any ISP - but it's really in Openserve's hands. Until the line is actually in the holding people, we have to wait :(

I am sure we can sort it out. With Vuma it should be automated and you just need to authenticate on our network.

Have you gone to activate.afrihost.com and entered your Clientzone details?

Vumatel themselves are even worse in pinpointing the problem. Initially, according to them, I needed a new installation and to replace my ONT unit. Afrihosts' own mailer doesn't help the situation either in that it specifies line installation and not line migration.

I had some assistance from my previous ISP (CISP) in determining what the problem was and then relaying that info to AH who, after much back and forth, finally had Vumatel get the line in the correct state for it to be able to be accepted by the ISP.

I tried that. I get a whoops something went wrong message.

Switched router from PPPOE to IPoE and connected my PC direct to the Frogfoot ONT. PC registered a 169.x.x.x IP which means the DHCP server was not responding or unreachable.
Afrihost IP's starts with 169.x.x.x, but It's not an apipa address.

EDIT: If its apipa - then the address will be 169.254.x.x
