That's pretty strange. Should work as long as your traffic is going through our network.

Can you please drop me a PM so I can check for you?

PM sent. I’m not getting an IP address from my modem so I tried the link from my Vodacom network.

I also think the comms to Vuma is poor. Afrihost staff cannot see that it’s a migrate option. They keep asking me. It was probably logged as a new installation.

You should be getting some assistance shortly to sort all of this out.

Switched router from PPPOE to IPoE and connected my PC direct to the Frogfoot ONT. PC registered a 169.x.x.x IP which means the DHCP server was not responding or unreachable.

169. is Afrihost ip range. You need to go activate.afrihost.com and activate the line. I'm not too sure about IPoE but should say DHCP or Dynamic IPv4 as the setup unless IPoE is the same thing.

Gary should be giving you a call just now with all the details :)
Yeah he did - thanks. I see I'm on the Critical Care List - i find that amusing - yet pretty cool. I think it's a good way to approach priority issues ! :)

CISP says their end shows "processing" on my release, but gave me the order number for it which i gave to Gary. Hopefully you guys can do some magic on that side.

Thanks

I don't know what you are seeing, but i got a call from one of your guys a few mins ago - and he says the line still shows that its with the previous ISP - you guys cannot grab it yet.

Called CISP - they are going to check now and let me know - but i can see i'm not going to get anywhere soon with this - sigh - can't believe it's such a mission - seriously, we should not be struggling like this. There must either be a serious flaw in the system somewhere - or someone is not doing their job properly.

I feel so sorry for those people with no technical knowledge around these things.

And this is mainly the reason that I don't want to jump ship. Being with Openserve and me having bad luck in general, this is something that will drive me up the walls. I'll rather stay put with CISP than put myself through all this hassle. :(

I've just chatted with Vumatel, and they're waiting for your fibre ops guys to update on your side, so that Vuma can issue new ON.

As pleasant as she is, your lady telling me that my hold time is 21 minutes for the last 5 minutes is less cool now. @AfriMan, how can I try get this checked? No connectivity for 3 days is becoming an issue. Granted, it's my issue, but I'm hoping it can be resolved sooner rather than later.

If they've released the line, we should be able to do the transfer. Let me ask the guys to follow up.
