For debit order I think we submit once a day - so I should be able to intercept if we time it just right.
Let's chat over PM and see how we can do this![]()

Did you chat to anyone specific. Vuma seems to be ignoring my support requests.
I’ve confirmed with Vox that they have released my line. @AfriMan seems to think Vuma needs to move my line over from PPPoE to DynamicIP but it seems like they really slow in doing this or Afrihost hasn’t communicated properly to them. 3 days and counting and still nothing.
is anybody possibly experiencing throttling on NZB downloads(NewsDemon)
100mbps line only going at 30mpbps). this is on Purefiber Openserve.
Just want to know whether i need to report it to the nzb provider or Afrihost?
Well, at least my connection is still alive, but I'm not sure for how long still. Can you guys perhaps speak to your Openserve SDM and ask if there really is a backlog of release orders like CISP claims?
Finally got my line running, now all I need to be done is get my line onto a 20meg up and down and not 20down/2up.
This a migration typically this painful?
With that said, my account is credited with the cancellation fees charged by my old ISP, how and where would I see the free month allocation on my account?
Morning @AfriMan. I’ve just spoken to Vumatel, and your fibre ops guys haven’t even placed an order yet. 40 hours, and no order yet.
I need that VP number.
Please, this shouldn’t be the reason I’m without internet.
OK - Line has been released at LAST. Gary ( great support from him ) is now dealing with the migration to AH.

I have been speaking to a hellava helpful young lady by the name of Frieda at Vuma. Do you have their telephone number?
Afrihost support is tough: those call centre waiting times are just crazy.
That's awesome. Most of the time migration is pretty seamless and mostly automated.
You won't see a credit note for free service in ClientZone - because we don't use a credit note. We script the free service in - if that makes sense. You would see the credit note for ISP cancellation fees though.
@AfriMan Is there any reason to not take the free router on singup? I don't need one but it might not be bad to have a spare. But if the R999 goes towards more offset costs then I'd prefer that? I'm not sure if the R5000 is the total of the benefit. So R5000 less setup (R1750) then if I take a R1757 a month deal that means without router I would only get 1.8 months free cause it goes over?
Or have I misunderstood the promo? I don't want to get a shock in my 2nd month
Cool, I will keep an eye on it.
Ah brilliant thenThe free service doesn't count towards the R5,000. It's 3 months - no matter what product you choose.
The R5,000 covers activation, cancellation fee and the router. Cancellation can be hefty if the ISP you are with add on a month of service. It really depends. If you think the router could be a benefit, like offer better wifi, or you can use your old one as an access node - go for it.
Last thing, I'm doing this for a new installation to Octotel but its still on backorder as its not live yet in my area. Its now asking to deliver the router. Is this done now or only when it goes live?Awesome![]()
