Hey All,

I wanted to share my experience from an AH perspective:

- I migrated from CISP to AH
- CISP cancelled at end August (31st - Sunday)
- I still had internet on Sunday
- Contacted AH who checked and said the line handover had not been completed yet but should be by Monday
- Contacted AH on Monday who confirmed line had been migrated
- Got home on Monday, plugged in AH credentials - Connected!
- connected at old speed of 40mbps, AH confirmed the line upgrade would be happening on Monday
- Got home on Tuesday, line at 100mbps

All in all, it was seamless, with people on Whatsapp being really helpful and @AfriMan. No down time.

Very Happy thus far.

Awesomeness - so glad it all went so well :)

Ok awesome. Just making sure. I just have to wait for installation but its not the worst thing. Gonna be exciting :D

Yeah, waiting for installation - the agony and the ecstasy.

But there's no better feeling when that new line is ready to go!

And if you're a PS Plus member - go download Batman Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3!

Did that last night.. Batman was 42g..

New installation on Sat by Vuma, skipped Sunday didn't do anything.

Monday online activation using old router, @AfriMan places my router order as well (or assists in the background).

Tuesday received my new router, but have been using the old one since Monday.

Loving having fibre, everything from streaming etc just works.

Nothing but bliss on my side with afrihost. My experience has been FULLY positive in all aspects.

So far so good!!!

PS. If someone wants to ask me to run a traceroute or whatever you call it blah blah blah blah, don't waste your time. I don't care about it.

Que the"you not worrying for now folk" :)

I feel exactly the same Trace route.. Iperf and all that funny jargon.. As long as my dstv now. Netflix and online gaming work I'm a happy camper.. #happy with afrihost.. It just works great for us non I. T okes.. Oh for about so etching called a MTRtest or something.. Still don't know what that is lol.. Don't care either.. Meh

We should be seeing generally good hold times, but remember that you can always log a call back if you're not getting through. The guys are pretty good at calling back at the specified times.

Hold time was >25 minutes (for fibre), and call back was 2.5 hours later.

I have been speaking to a hellava helpful young lady by the name of Frieda at Vuma. Do you have their telephone number?

Afrihost support is tough: those call centre waiting times are just crazy.

I called them as well and was told they were waiting for some information from Afrihost. Afrihost does not seem to be doing any follow ups. I’m just told this takes 48 to 72 hours.
It’s long pass 72 hours now.

There's definitely a missing link in this arrangement. According to all my comms with AH, the order hadn't gone through. Then, via a whatsapp chat, I found out that they had sent it through yesterday in actual fact.

Then spoke to Vuma, and had to sweet talk them into logging/loading (some company jargon) the VT number that Afrihost used when logging it.

Now, as I understand, I have to log directly into the ONT device to test the connection. I have a Mac, with no network port.

FML.

That's awesome - appreciate you sharing that. Nice to hear when everything goes right :)

We're definitely following up. Have asked the guys to log another escalation with Vuma.
