Pings to London are fine, 144ms.
But as soon as you move out from there it gets worse. Before on liquid, it would only be 161ms for me tracing to Final Fantasy 14 servers. Now on Telkom, it is around 177ms/180ms.

@AfriMan how do I reset this router to factory defaults. My wife accidentally switched off the plug and upon switching it back on the router refuses all connections.

I cannot even reach 192.168.0.1 using my laptop and an ethernet cable.

Please help, anybody!

You should usually be able to do it from the router software, or the reset button (with a pen or pin) at the back of the router.

It was not that simple. I pressed the crap out of that button for like 30 minutes before it finally reset. The problem now is I don't know what I did differently the final time I pressed it to get it to reset

The HE BGP toolkit seems outdated, I'm seeing this:

I can't imagine how expensive it must have been to terminate their contract with Liquid and get SAIX up in a matter of days, especially considering it's nearing festive season...

Yeah I don't know why Liquid, Telkom and IS likes using ESSAY or Seacom to EU. It's not a good route. It's nice and low once it's Marseille at 159 ms but after that latency is basically garbage.

The cpt - lon - eu is a better lower route.

How long should I be looking at if I've got Vuma aerial installed in my flat and placed my order with Afrihost this morning? Isn't it just a matter of getting the PPPoE details and letting her rip?

So this weekend, I had a mate come download a PS game and whilst still a crap ton quicker than his ADSL, it still took a while on my 20mbps line. This got me thinking, if I were to change package, how long does it take to take effect? Would it be possible to go to a higher package for a day and then drop back down to the 20 for the rest of the month?

Anyone on Afrihost Fibre suddenly experiencing high packet loss?

Is there an issue? 2 seperate locations and both have intermittent connectivity

Openserve

It is. The issues aren't inherent to fibre. My Openserve line has been rock solid. I don't think I've had any downtime in years.
So it's an Afrihost problem? Or SADV problem in my case?

An Afrihost problem would suggest that users across various fibre networks are all experiencing similar issues. I'm not experiencing any issues with Pure Fibre on Openserve, so I would assume it's most likely that SADV has the issue here.

I see they say KZN area but I'm in PTA and although the latency is good I still max speed at 40Mbps or so on international be it London or Amsterdam.

Hopefully metro Fibre is better then.
