@AfriMan

Speedtest to international seems kinda bad had full line speed 200/200 to UK on CISP after TCP Acceleration but on Afrihost upload is great download is pathetic cant stream twitch at source without major buffering

Tests:

Traceroute:

As far as I know it should be unusual to get line speed to overseas, but that speed does seem low.

Are you using our DNS? Connecting directly or using a VPN, anything like that?

Since when do you lock accounts to a single modem (Used @cavedog Afri account a few times to run tests)? I tried to log in at my other home and it simply wouldn't connect.

Mind running traceroute to 197.80.200.162?

In order to make DHCP work, we need to register the MAC address of the device - this is done on the provider's side. We can reset that MAC address if you change devices, you just need to notify us. Once reset, the first device that connects with be registered on the system.

@AfriMan mind checking your PM's .. been waiting since yesterday for my Frogfoot connection to be moved over to AH.

Is this for a migration? You should definitely receive a success notification from us.

Nope, a package upgrade. Haven't received an email confirmation or anything. If there wasn't a pending change when clicking Edit package in the Client Zone, I'd wonder if the request went through at all.

I've been billed this month even though it was supposed to be part of my free months

Also no credit showing from the previous ISP Invoice that was supposed to be credited

Drop me a PM and let me check for you. If i remember correctly you should at least get an SMS.

@AfriMan

Please also PM so I can check. You may have been invoiced against your credit (but not billed).

Sorry man, I read your PM and escalated for you - but forgot to reply. I blame the hear and the lack of whiskey in my life.

Have replied.
thanks, seems AH is taking strain for the past 2 days in the support department, 2 hours in the WA queue today and now it's just offline

Yeah, we're seeing a lot more queries than usual. I guess people are wanting to get things done before the holidays. We're working our way through everything. Best thing to do is stick to one channel though - logging multiple queries just clogs up the system and creates more delays :(

I have opened a ticket just in case. Its a direct connection to Afrihost no VPN and no wireless using a RB3011 UiASM router the line is run by metrofibre. Local seems fine

Definitely looks a little high. Can you please ping bras.afrihost.com? Assuming you are on Openserve.

Sorry about not reaching us, we have had an influx of queries on all channels, but we're busy getting things back to normal.

Looks like it could be local congestion. What area are you in?
