It's Final Fantasy 14.
It's at 160/170 on vox, which is what it was with AH.
And yea i always run a vpn for this game specifically as it helps with packet loss that occurs without it.

Comparing both tracert between Afrihost direct and via Cloudflare. Afrihost is JHB>DUR>France>Netherlands>Germany and Cloudflare is JHB>CPT>London>Germany. Afrihost is going via EASSY and Cloudflare via WACS.

Connection on my side keeps on dropping.....
Same here, seems to be an area fault on my side though. Erasmia/Laudium area.

As an Afrihost client I have to get them to escalate it to Telkom/Openserve, right ? Not sure what the protocol is, never been in this situation before

Well you can't go wrong with Cloudflare Warp. It's free. They have local peering points and they usually have the best routing because they have a ton of money. That said any VPN should do and if you want to be 100% sure then any VPN that has a server in London and in LINX.

I thought that was a mobile app. Do you use it with Bluestacks or something?

I swear bud, you should just be hired as consultant by afrihost. So my post was from Wednesday night, but last night it was 100% perfect. So we will see if it was just another band aid patch or whether it is fixed properly now.
In the words of Arnie... I'll be back.

Haha I just wanted to compare and see where the issue might be. Could be interesting to see. I will keep an eye on this thread

You can use it for windows pc too. Just generate a .conf file and run it in wireguard. It's free fast and very good.
I tried it out, but I think according to some of your previous posts, it seems to not really work for Cape Town users. I seem to get better results without the VPN. I'll try to post some results later on.

Twitch has taken a huge nose dive ever since the switch over.
Can't watch source for more than a 30 seconds before it tanks.
@AfriMan

Twitch was "ok" before the cable breaks. During the breaks and the extra capacity that was brought online, it was a write off. However, now since the cables were repaired, I still cannot even stream at 360p for more than 5 seconds on Twitch without it buffering and I have a full speed 100/25 pure fibre line.

I also have access to other ISPs and backbones and I can stream Twitch at 1080p flawlessly. So something is not right here. Please can you check if there is anything deprioritising streaming traffic as Twitch is one of the main reasons I have an internet connection. Thanks.

Pretty flawless on my side. You on Octotel? Could be a number of things like Packetloss on the line, nni issue between Afrihost/Octotel a transit issue or routing issue in CPT but it's not a general issue with the Afrihost network. You are probably going to need to do some troubleshooting with support or something to get it sorted with your cable provider.

Yeah the provider is Octotel. It was fine before the cable breaks so I was thinking it was maybe some routing issue between Afrihost and Octotel. I dread contacting support and getting a level 1 tech with no knowledge of basic networks and routing... but maybe I have no choice.

P.S. No issues with any other streaming site. It is only Twitch.

I see the server I'm served is from France and traffic to that server is going via Telkom transit EASSY cable to France so it's not a WACS thing unless maybe you get served by a different server?
