We have seen a big spike in call back requests and email tickets. Graphs indicate an issue. We are investigating.

I was suspecting either the Ethernet cable between the ONT and Router or the router itself.

If you test with the DGN and it works we need to log a return request to have the router replaced.
Ok, managed to hook up the DGN last night, and it's been working without the same issue since then.

Still monitoring, but seems to be router issue then as you predicted ;)

Do I just log an exchange request via clientzone? Or should it be a return request?

Thanks mate!

You can log a return request in clientzone.

The system will automatically create a charge for the return of the router but this will be credited back to you once we receive the router at the warehouse.

Ok cool - but I wouldn't mind exchanging it for a new if that is possible? It seems a kief router..

FrogFoot IPCore team is working on the issue.

The outage is affecting all ISPs currently and not just Afrihost.

With regards to international speeds and latency:

Marseille Frankfurt

Openserve is currently impacted by a dual Submarine cable failure. SAT3 between SA and Frankfurt non availability is due to planned work on segment 3 of the SAT3 cable. The expected completion date of the planned work is the 6th of June 2021. EASSy failure between SA and Marseilles is caused by cable fault in Mumbai. Mumbai cable station is investigating. All international traffic is routed via WACS to London.

We have secured additional capacity and will be switching certain prefixes over in the early am.

We don't expect downtime but there might be some dips between 1am and 4am on the 28th.

Can anyone offer me assistance, I am tried of dealing with Afrihost support. So I canceled my line with them. They were supposed to have released my line so my new isp can take over.

This afrihost support claims to have done. Yet the new ISP has shown me the response that says its still under Afrihost.

I spoke to telkom support and they say I have an active Afrihost session.

I then proceed to phone Afrihost support again the technician says, "Sir it's canceled can you connect to the internet ?" to which I reply "I was never able to connect that is why I am changing ISP." Offers to transfer me to manger 7 min wait no manger.

Any advice on what I should do next?

I feel like they are holding my line hostage.

Hi,

We don't hold lines at all when a client cancelled.

Can you send me a direct message with your email address linked to your cancelled account so I can have a look for you?
