I'm in CT - no shaping applied. On a 4mb account. Only had a lot of downloads going the last 3 days though. Usage on 220gb for the month so far.

Getting full speed and low latency after Telkom upgraded our exchange.

It's based on the overall network demand, not your specific usage on the account

Since your account tracked mine closely: 25% Download/ 6.5% P2P would not advise it captain.

I recently joined AfriHost. I'm in the Durban area.

I must say that while the shaping is quite strict, I feel much better about it after discovering that it's on a network level rather than per account.

I don't feel so alone any more \/

While the shaping is frustrating, I can live with it. I'm going to stick it out until things improve.

So you prefer it that the whole network is punished rather than just abusers?!

Im in the Free State on a 2mb line and have been shaped during the day for most of the month now. I've done 90gb so far and am currently shaped at 25% Download/ 6.5% P2P

It is not about throttling but the "magic No" when you get throttled. If mweb can disclose that I will be back there tomorrow.

Does it really take up to 14 days to convert a voice line to DSL through Afrihost?? Last time I went with Mweb it took 3 days.

It's all up to the Telkom processing time We give 14 days as an average - it can go quicker sometimes, other times it'll take longer.
