So you don't want an ETR on repairs?
I don't tend to ask for that which I understand to be near impossible to give. I also don't assume that I echo either the wishes or attitude of others.

anyone lose authentication for about 30-45 mins? it just came back up now.
I got this same bull**** story last week and was told it would probably be up before the end of last week. Don't give us this lame repetitive story.
I want an ETR on EASSy and also a reason why your back up service is pathetic.
EASSy dsnt even have a website that is updated yet you running with them. If they cant even maintain a website how can they fix/manage an undersea cable?
This is what i got from your Dev team on friday and then I phoned telkom and they said my line is fine. I then tested another account and got full speed. I appreciate the feedback but don't lie to your customers and blame telkom when its clearly a problem on your network.
Hi same thing happened to me I'm in Cape Town (Kennilworth) All packages over the line died just came back 10min ago Afrihost Mweb Telkom. Weird...are you in the same area?
Im close, Cape Town Plumstead/Wynberg
Intermittent throughput issues in Cape Town. Up and down like a yoyo.
Telkom is teaching me not to complain about high latency and that it could always be much worse i guess
Same here. In Kirstenhof. Don't think it's afrihost though, dropping constantly on both afrihost and mweb accounts...
EASSy went up as we said, and I posted here on the thread. But latencies were not back to normal, and they needed to take it back down in order to do full maintenance on the cable. We'll get updates as the maintenance gets underway, and we're hopeful that it will be fully restored to what it was before the cable break.
We're running tests on International speeds, but from what we can see there doesn't seem to be a general network issue. While I do see a few complaints here, our tests are showing full international speeds on services, so we need to do more analysis and testing to figure out what the commonalities are.

11pm has come and gone and my connection seems fine. I hope it stays this way. I think I'm going to decrease my speed to 4Mbps though - it's not often that my speeds exceed 440KB/s. I could take out a BTGuard VPN and still save R100 a month.

Agreed, late evening it comes right. Ran a download at 750kB/s.
From 6pm to 11/12pm it's terrible. It's as if I'm being throttled in the evening (on a capped account)
Any feedback regarding the international issue some of us are having
