Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

I was, it was a couple of international sites, ign.com cnn.com reddit.com all back to normal again, p2p, steam and speedtest were functioning as normal, very strange.

If you notice it happen again, please let me know!

You're not alone.
Last 3 days or so, after around 6pm, connection becomes 100% unusable.
Most games/services cant maintain a connection, and even just navigating to this forum took me 15 minutes, and another 10 of refreshing and reposting just to try and get this post made.

Diablo 3 is the worst because of the way it handles packets etc, but the problem shows up in some way or another in just about any and every online service you can think of that maintains a persistent connection.

Maybe its just time to move on to another ISP for me. This is becoming increasingly stupid over the years.

I am thinking the same thing. Connect to a mweb account and Diablo ran like a dream. Back to afrihost and it is dead. Not worth the amount of money I anymore. Like all the great ISP's in the past Afrihost just joined the group of "We love to take your money while giving you a crap service".

Can only reply on this forum via 3G. cannot even connect via Afrihost
 
For the last week my ping and packet loss in War Thunder was getting worse.

Tonight it is impossible to play ping 999 and packet loss 40%.

With Webafrica account ping is 270 and 0% packet loss.

It is a 4Mbps Business account.

Ping is usually 200ms to 240ms and the game is playable at that.

But the last week the packet loss made it impossible to play.

Last night I could not even log into the game server with afrihost but webafrica had no problem.

It looks like there is an active sync on your DSL line, with an active session. There is some data being moved, which leads me to believe that the connection is up, but not that there is anyone home at the moment.
 
How is the home uncapped package for say 4 people streaming, on a 20mbps line?

It could be fine, with a 20Mbps Home Uncapped account you can move 200GB over a 30-Day Rolling Window without being throttled at all.
