Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

Yea and afrihost says there is no issue ... Maybe they need to browse the web and use their product. Every evening this is an issue and yet they denounce it

Ps: all the afrihost reps. Why don't u try browsing some international sites ... I've taken a random one now "tech radar" ... And tell us if it's all normal ?

Funny how it goes. This is why i canceled my afrihost accounts. They will dispute that there is any problem, make you do tests up the wazoo and its all just a play for time. Unfortunately for me my sister is still with with them and this last week every time their network goes belly up I have to use my spare isp acount to help out. Just wish people would realise that you vote with your wallet and rather test out other isps than wait for afrihost to sort out their crap.
 
US sites are downloading and streaming seamlessly. Is there a problem with connection to European servers we should know about? So slow.

Waiting for the fibre to be installed at home. And then it will def be bubeye afrihost.

Honesty, transparency is so important for me. And it's clear afrihost is just not acknowledging the issue. They clearly know there is one

@afrihost ... The absolute worst thing any company can do is assume your clients are ignorant and won't notice a thing when the quality of your product ain't what's been promised

Internet 100% unusable.
Youtube? Get lost!
Netflix? piss off!
Games? No chance in hell!
Websites? This one took 8 minutes to get in to...

All ****ed.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience. :( We'll definitely have to look at a few tests in order to determine the cause of this. Are you seeing high latency? What DNS servers are you connecting with?

These sites seem to be loading up for me. :) Could you please send me a trace result to the affected site?

Same here. Ever night this week speeds degrade and other people all having the same issue yet Afrihost says there isn't a problem.
In my last interaction on FB, I could tell the guy was blatantly avoiding my questions.
I'd be fine if they said there's something wrong and we're working on it. Afrihost needs to work on transparency and support.

Either my exchange is completely destroyed in the evenings (speed test says it's fine) can't even get on mybroadband. Will upload logs when it finally loads

Speedtest still shows the correct information however PSN, hell even this forum and Afrihosts own site struggle to load. The moment I add a Axxess test account to my router everything works as expected again...

Really frustrating...

Exactly ...Either we all on some cheap meth. Or afrihost needs to take note. I've sent a traceroute yesterday and I was asked about the dns to which I replied and then no feedback since . I'm not doing another traceroute if I'm ignored

Highly agree bud, 10pm seems to be the key time where issues are resolved but that doesn't help since my main usage time is 5pm to 10pm rendering 3 hours of my service useless every night thus far.

The fact that adding another account and having the line perform as it should immediately points to them being a culprit. I have also seen nothing from Afrihost mentioning they have a problem which is frustrating.

This is my first serious issue with Afrihost since joining 6 years ago and it's so annoying as it literally renders my internet useless.

Everything default, as auto-assigned by your DHCP.
In order for me to report latency, i would first need to be able to GET INTO anything!
I can't even log in to the games, much less be irritated by latency!

As it is with pretty much everyone else, i.e. peak times. This is congestion on AH's network, there's no doubt about it.
 
Afrihost really need to open up and resolve this or atleast disclose this and resolve it.

This past week has had me relook at my 6 year relationship with you guys, I know it's a hiccup but it's a hiccup I cannot afford to "turn a blind" eye to every single night. Internet accounts are expensive and people pay for expected level of service and be it a R99 or R3000 service someone has with you guys, you need to come forward and admit somethings not right.

I'm also not unreasonable, sure there could be the odd night within a few months but daily issues is a pet peeve that really gets me.
 
That's right Afrihost. Keep telling us there's nothing wrong. We're all idiots.

I think it's bigger than we realise. My speeds started dropping on Monday. About an hour before that my one friend's speeds did the same thing. He's on 20Mbps fibre with Afrihost. Since then, every night he drops to around 3Mbps. It takes him about 10 minutes to get into the clientzone.

This is only based on what I'm seeing here and 1 person on fibre but seems I don't think the issue is isolated to DSL.

Thank you. My experience was'nt all poor, it started off great, but anyways, I actually left you guys in December, its been clear sailing since, knock on wood. Really hope you guys get your network together, its terrible to see so much passion and care being hamstrung by a problamatic service.

We definitely need to figure out what's affecting your connection.

Can you drop me a PM with your account details. I want to check a few things on my side. I may need to ask our Critical Care Team to contact you to assist with getting your connection sorted out.

When you start to see a drop in throughput, are specific services affected or is it the entire connection that doesn't run at full speed?
