It starts and then downloads extremely slowly (task manager shows <100kbit/s). Say I'm downloading a 20MB file, it'll download 2MB and then chrome will show 0B/s. It will pick up at the same slow speed as earlier and then die again. Eventually it just times out.

As I've said, I understand that I can't have my full line speed at all times but downloads not being able to finish at all shouldn't be happening.

Is it possible to pause the download at all?

I can pause it, continuing changes nothing. After a while it will timeout and chrome will say "Failed - Network error".

It's not ideal, but I wonder if the slow speed that the download is being shaped down to is maybe causing it to timeout. :(

Is it happening with any other downloads?

Nope. Seems to just be with Github. So you guys going to have a look at it?

I'll ask them to have a look, I just hope it is something on our side. It could be that Github drops a download if reaches a specific threshold.
 
3 more days, that's all I have to say about this service, it can't come soon enough, another day, another terrible experience on your network, you guys really need to up your game if you want to one day be a top tier ISP.

I'm also waiting for month end to come so I can see if the next ISP I use will be better.

It's been a hectic 2 weeks with me wanting to pull my hair out or wanting to rage on my TV.

I'm not angry at Afrihost, just disappointed that they not being upfront about what actually is going on. Well that's my opinion at least thus I can't be angry as I'm not quite sure and just assuming.

Anyway.... Almost time to test the next ISP.

Yeah Saturday, Sunday and last night were a bit better. Better in the sense that I could not stream as from 20:30 and not 19:00 any longer.

I only stream these days and do not download so when I can't watch anything it is extremely frustrating.

I am sad to leave as I've been with y'all a while but I can't take this any longer.

Which streaming site are you struggling with? Which DNS Servers are you using?

I'm streaming via "Kodi" with max video quality 720p because I've only got a 4MB line.

DNS servers? Uhm, think I've only got 8.8.8.8 entered.

Could you switch your DNS to automatic and see if that makes a difference please.
