If you read my post u'd see that the failed cap load is in fact Openwebs fault. But that would of been proven very easily had you/him tested another ISP's account(the free ones so the trick) and sent Openweb the results.
How do you check if you are capped if they dont provide the functionality? You phone when support (when it does become available) or if you cannot wait you come here and msg the representative directly and ask them to personally look into it as you arent getting satisfactory support via email.
Okay you're being very obtuse now and and this needs to stop. Let me put this in plain English for you:
Neighbour contacted Openweb with line speed troubles.
Openweb told him it is Telkom's fault
He called Telkom
He then called me and I went to check
I ran tests using multiple ISP accounts, then tried his account on my line (I've told you this already but you keep missing it somehow). I confirmed that it was not a Telkom fault but a fault on Openweb's side.
I asked him about his cap, he said he saw he might hit his cap, so he bought another 50 gigs earlier in the month already which I confirmed.
The tests however showed that the account only slowed down after downloading P2P, and did so for the same duration that the Openweb shaper works.
On this evidence; on the back of Openweb fobbing him off as it being a Telkom fault; on the back of my suspicions that this was in fact shaping; I posted this thread, to which cableguy responded and we finally got to the bottom of it (perhaps).
There was no way to tell if he was capped, as he had not actually been capped because of their testing without his permission on the account.
All indications were that his capped account was being shaped, which I still maintain it was.
Occam's razor.
Again, if you just read the thread and my responses to your idiotic statements, you'd know all of the above.
There was no way to tell if the account was capped. Considering he'd topped up; considering he'd contacted support already and they made no mention of this; considering the account behaved like a shaped account; my position was (and still is) that the account was shaped, that the softcap excuse was an easy one to attempt to use as nobody can disprove it.
I felt it prudent to post a public thread to find out if anyone else had experienced this.
Now for the love of all that is holy, does this not make sense to you now? How is it that everyone else is able to read, comprehend, and understand, yet you appear completely unable to? Is it
that hard to admit being wrong?
