Battlefield 6 - Official Thread

Can't say I'm particularly a fan on getting spawn killed nonstop. I think that is why I don't play FPS at all. I don't think battlefield is for me. I don't understand how someone can be like 40/0 and I'm here getting spawn killed 0/10
This crazy dude went 61 - 1 flying the F16 and the only reason he died was because he crashed into a tree

How did you guys find the performance of the beta? I capped my in-game frame rate to 90 fps, and most of the time my fps didn't drop below that but at times on some maps, fps dropped as low as 72.

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600KF 3.50 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Motherboard Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4
Display Adaptor Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 10GB
What resolution/settings do you play with? That seems low.

I am reasonably happy with my old hardware (i7 8700 and 3060ti). Getting between 110 and 120 FPS and smooth as butter. 1440p with everything on low and using DLSS performance. A few observations:
  • If I crank the settings up to medium it complains about VRAM so we are def past the 8GB days.
  • I don't mind though as I always play competitive games on low anyway. Easier to spot people.
  • My CPU FPS is always lower than GPU FPS so my CPU is holding me back.
  • DLSS performance seems to be the star of the show for me. For some reason it seems to takes some load of CPU as without it my CPU can't get past 100FPS. I used to think that DLSS added some latency but I just do not notice it here.

Quick question.. played many hours of battlefield 1. If I remember they pulled local server hosting from south africa. Is this still the case for BF6?

There is local servers, seems to be in Cape Town, you find a lobby within 5 seconds
Awesome!! Happy they support local servers.
Let's hope we have the player base to support full servers.

Not enjoying the reports of cheaters, hope its not going to ruin this game 😒

1440p for me, sorry I should have stated that.

I'm also running in performance mode for the game and also for dlss, low detail because medium or higher it complained about VRAM. Flip so my performance does seem low. Maybe a reboot was required Will have to try on Thursday again.

I'm running the latest Nvidia 580 drivers, 580.88 if I am not mistaken.

Okay I did eventually have some fun in the game. Had a blast as the medic running around reviving people.

Frostbite engine is doing really good here. Game looks really good even on low settings on low end hardware and even looks really good on xbox series s. I think if they wanted to they could have made an xbox one and ps4 version because it looks very well optimized and on low settings performs well on really old hardware.

Unreal Engine 5 is a real resource hog hey. Damn

Lol Zack def doesnt play FPS games

That thing is def just good its not cheating
Its got Linkin Park pumping in the background

Is it just me or did they forget to include a compass on the mini map?

Game: "Enemy tank spotted east of your position"
Me: Ok and where is that?
