Hi Guys,

I have tried a few apps, some work initially and then stop. I don't mind paying for one. Some research online shows there could be challenges depending on the country and service provider.

Any tried and trusted apps you would recommend?

Using Note 9, Android 10 and on MTN.

Yeh premium
ok cool thanks. Have you been using it for a while and you can hear all voices in the recording quite well?
Some apps have very low volume for the person on the other end.

I have tested it a few times, and its good. But my expectations might be lower than yours of what is good. Lol

Also, I see on Android 10 one should be able to see a recording option on the UI. But it seems to use Google Voice which is not available in SA.

With my Xiaomi the latest updates seemed to allow for Google Dialer to record calls again. But it has a voice that says "this call is being recorder". Which is ironic, because Google doesn't let you know whenever they use your data.

HAHA! if you say it's good then it's probably fine for most users. thanks

Does Trucaller not have a trial option for their premium version, so you can check it out first? Call recording wasnt really something i cared about, but maybe check and see

They usually offer trials. Maybe I must try that and opt out if not happy with it.

My Redmi 9C with Phone by Google have the recorder option. I have not used it though, but yes, it does warn the other party that the call is being recorded. I think this is to adhere to international norms and laws.

Use Call Recorder for 10 years now. Perfect on both sides.
Can email calls which saved thousands of Ront in my business.
Beware new phones cannot load it. My S7 is the latest it works on.

Google to kill call-recording apps on Play Store on May 11

Starting with Android 10, Google killed call recording by default and on May 11, the company is implementing new Google Play Store policies preventing third-party apps from using the Accessibility API for recording the call audio stream.

Those changes are towards improved privacy and security as call recording laws across the world vary quite a bit. However, system, pre-installed apps that already have permission to tap on the Accessibility API won't be affected by the change.

Pixel's and Xiaomi's dialers, for example, are two exceptions to the rule. This is considered a native call recording functionality. And although Google didn't disclose plans on taking care of those as well, we would assume that some additional policies will be implemented in the future.

Android one's phone app comes with a built in recorder since last year or so. But it the type that notifies the parties that the call is being recorded.

No use trying any app on Android devices. If you have Android Pie or later, call recording has been disabled on OS level and no app in this world, paid or not, can bypass it. If you want to do call recording, look at devices that does not run Android OS. I know Apple also does not allow recording, so no use looking at them either.

Don't speak nonsense. I'm on Q and have call recording baked into the phone app by Google.
