Carnivore diet

I tried reducing my plant matter intake, but I found that it wreaked havoc with my digestion. I got very constipated. So, I'll stick with most of my calories coming from animal products, with plant matter added for digestion.

I'm on keto(ish) diet, but not losing much weight. Which is okay, because it is very successful in keeping my diabetes and hypertension in check, without medication.

My brother-in-law was on the carnivore diet and had recently reported to us that he had never felt better or fitter. Aged 54, he had a massive heart attack on 8 January and passed away.

Anecdotal evidence doesn't mean much but it does make me worry about being too strict on our diets. Dietary fibre, for example, is supposed to be good for arteries and heart health...

There is not much in a carnavore diet to be found on this list: 15 Incredibly Heart-Healthy Foods

If you are experiencing any constipation the first thing that you need to do is increase your fat intake. Then make sure you are getting at least 3L of water a day as well as some form of movement, even a 30 min brisk walk. If you are still having trouble try magnesium citrate.

So I have been on a mainly animal based diet for about two years now , and I want to do a health check just to be sure I'm not doing any harm.

When I started the diet, I was concerned about vitamin c, so I do comsume a lemon most days.

So I'm thinking of doing the following tests :

C-reactive protein test. (High CRP levels can indicate that there’s inflammation in the arteries of the heart, which can mean a higher risk of heart attack.)

My HDL cholesterol and triglycerides levels. This is to determine my triglyceride/HDL ratio.
(An abnormal ratio of triglycerides to HDL-cholesterol (TG/HDL-c) indicates an atherogenic lipid profile and a risk for the development of coronary disease.)

Vitamin D3 test.

Are there any other test someone would suggest?

That's just daft. I don't really believe she didn't know this. I'm pretty sure most vegans who take supplements know they are taking supplements to make up for the lack of meat their diets. The few vegans I know reject meat for ethical and compassionate reasons, they are well aware of the risk of malnutrition without supplements.

100%

And the only supplements you need to take on a vegan diet if you don't eat crap is Vit B12 and maybe D3 if you don't get enough sun.

Everything else you can find in plant-based food. Been a vegan for almost 1 years now and haven't dropped dead yet. I'm also healthy and do trail running and mountain biking.

I am all for this...Then I remember the Potato salad....No I am too weak...

Conclusion
Contrary to common expectations, adults consuming a carnivore diet experienced few adverse effects and instead reported health benefits and high satisfaction. Cardiovascular risk factors were variably affected. The generalizability of these findings and the long-term effects of this dietary pattern require further study.

Most people who do the carnivore diet are just meat eating vegans.

Dunno if its been mentioned but watch Jordan Peterson's interview with Joe Rogan about his families success with the carnivore diet on Youtube.

It might not be for every body type, but it seems to have cleared up a lot of the Peterson's health issues.

Mine is almost 100% plant based.

I mean even the cows. They eat plants and turn it into steak, so plant based by the time I eat it, right?

That's makes my diet solar because the plants use the sun and the cow eats plants and I eat the cow :D

Do a full lipid profile. Check LDLs as well.

Yeah, you might wanna have a look at what followed that interview in terms of Peterson's health issues chief.
