Cell C data uppercut lined up

What congestion issue?

Cell C customer support told me that the reason I get no throughput but good signal is because of congestion. Some others have mentioned the same thing being told to them on one of the multiple threads about the Cell C network problems.

What congestion issue?

In certain areas Cell C has congestion issues, like where I live.I absolutely love Cell C especially for what they have done in the mobile area with pricing but I cant lie the connection in my area is terrible right now and yet 7 km away I get 10.5mbps blazing speeds on the same iphone 5.

I don't see why CellC needs to respond. Their normal pricing is cheaper than Vodacom and MTN's one month specials.

Me niether.
Do they have a large subscriber base or a base of abusers?
They can hardly cater for all their customers, the competition havent dropped to their level, why are they dropping the prices even more? Whats the rush?
Like ive said in other threads, they have another agenda.

I have a cell c 3G sim in my laptop and its been ok, never really great but ok. Not sure you could actually consume more data until their network is fixed.

I can see the mast from where I am sitting. Brilliant signal, no data, no feedback. Third month. I will thus not be buying the cheap data. I can not use it if they gave it away.

Me neither. Cell C's data prices are excellent. I'd really like SMS's becoming 20 or 25c though.

A rate drop to 5c/MB could be fantastic. R5 for 100MB, R50 for a gig. They'd basically be adjusting the fixed rate to compete at the higher data amounts, and destroying the competition at the lower levels. I won't get my hopes up though... Maybe 10c/MB is more realistic.

Don't all mobile network providers?

I don't know, but it appears like an exceptional amount of customers have been complaining about Cell C since January.

Not necessarily congestion, could be a backend issue.

People don't use the term in a technical sense. If there is good signal and next to nothing throughput, people refer to it as congestion, as far as I can tell.

COME ON UNCAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please NO uncapped....everyone will be playing games on the Cell C network, and the network will grind to a halt. How about 5 GB for R 129 prepaid - without contract

thats where the game is heading to, and I think it should have been there already had it not for our ever 'useless' communication department

oh! the network can be attrocious, only if they can deal with their data connection and I will forever be their customer.

Well quite possibly, so its taking them over a year to get fiber to a tower 7 km away from the one I'm currently at?
They had better hurry up because its irritating hearing all the people I recommended Cell C to in my area to start complaining to me that the network is now not very usable in our area.

I'm patient but not everyone has wifi backup.

COME ON UNCAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell no,uncapped works perfectly well on fixed lines as long as you have enough back haul and a decent exchange but on cell towers the connection would go to crap,a low cost high speed capped service for mobile is the best way for all of us, consumers and operators.

There is only that much spectrum available to wireless networks unlike fixed line where you could theoretically have unlimited connections in a given radius with unlimited throughput its just a matter of investing more infrastructure.

Have a look at europe where mobile networks have realized this and are backtracking on uncapped offerings.

Left Prepaid price cut hook... Right prepaid price cut jab. An uppercut to K.O. the competition down to R79 for 2GB or more on prepaid :D
