Cell C fixed LTE data throughput experience

I cancelled my CellC and moved to Telkom.

The speeds are just wonderful.

Whenever I am tempted by CellC prices I remember the nightmare that their coverage and service is.

As much as I like the giga packages, I just can't risk it.

What nonsense, I bought the Afrihost deal... We have full LTE coverage in our area but my speed test showed me a download speed of 0,05kb and upload was non existent....

Surely you guys have to do something about this

After reading your response I am definitely canceling this crap, it disconnects for no odd reason, I rebooted 20 times yesterday alone, I am going back to RAIN, yeah their download speeds are kak but their network reliability is better than Cell C.

On a side note, I called CELL C today and their response was to first log a call with Afrihost but it seems like Afrihost is giving even more kak responses

We'd recommend that you submit your findings with Afrihost so that they can have the matter escalated even further.

So I did all the above, raised the matter, got a ticket number, sent a tracert, changed APN settings and well I will show you my speeds now

On Monday the 8th of October. I have the ticket number and have logged numerous calls, emails etc but now i have had enough of this.

I have a normal CellC data package, and am experiencing the same issues. Regular 'connection reset by peer' errors.

TCPDump shows the following:

Since I control that web site too, I did the same TCPdump there - and guess what, that SYN packet did not even reach the server. The RST was generated on the CellC network.

It looks like they have some sort of transparent proxy breaking things somewhere in their network...
 
Subscribed to Cell C LTE through Axxess. Abso bloody lutely useless service! :mad:

I ran 7 speed tests today and not once could I get more than 7mbps down speed. I ran one test with Telkom and immediately shot over 60mbps. I am so disgusted I want my money back. I feel like I have been taken back to 2005 using 3G. I'm living in Magaliessig, Fourways behind Monte Casino. Even my MTN 3G sim gets me better speed than Cell C LTE on a Huawei B315 router. All my testing was done with a Poynting external antenna attached and the Cell C LTE service still managed to underwhelm. See attached screenshot.

STAY AWAY FROM CELL C LTE!!!

The speeds are terrible, I am definitely cancelling this nonsense. To open up a web page on mobile takes 30 seconds which is awful. I totally regret signing up for this deal
