Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

Is the CEO aware of all these complaints? It's not as if it is only a few, isolated ones; there seems to be a serious, general problem out there. Within the year they may have lost a substantial number of subscribers that is going to hurt them like eina!
 
As usual every Christmas to New Year period, the Cell C data coverage in St Francis is completely congested. Up until close to midnight only 2G works. And even after midnight performance is poor, but at least the improved latency makes web browsing bearable.
 
I am actually getting a more stable network when I choose Cell C as the network instead of "automatic" under network settings. It might be a different story if I'm in a rural area.
 
this is what it's like when you make a call while driving between pietermaritzburg and durban on the n3 (using the appropriate handsfree things).

i've really been having a terrible time with cellc and terrible signal, especially data throughput - full signal, no data.

So I just spend 2.5k on cell c giga 100. Big mistake! 0.8 mbps and constant drops service in Bloemfontein. Browsing SA forums is a major hassel with no data and dns error returns. Cell c get your act together!

I currently have a SmartData 2GB contract and for the last few months I noticed that data does not roll over. Is this something new that you are doing?

I am currently having a rather big problem related to call quality with CellC.
I cannot hear my wife on the other end of the phone clearly when I call her. I have two phones, one with a CellC simcard and another with a MTN. My wife has a dual sim phone with a cellC sim and MTN sim. (previously she had a galaxy nexus and we had the same problem).
When I make a call to her CellC number regardless of what phone I am using the line is always muffled. When I place a call to the MTN number the line is far clearer.

The same is true when she calls me. CellC line is unclear while the MTN Line is far clearer.

Her contract ends in May and I am really considering moving elsewhere. This isn't a price issue but purely network quality. What is the point of saving 50 bucks a month in contract fee's if I cannot even hear the person on the other end of the line?

CellC rep please assist.

I have noticed how slow Cell C has gotten in the Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth area... Speedtest after speedtest, even accessing websites like MyBB, Facebook, Youtube, loads up really slow. I have checked and there isn't anything downloading on my computer. The 2Mbps ADSL Line at my residence feels faster and it was downloading faster than my Cell C connection (which usually downloads at 1MB/sec from 12:00 till 6am).

Cell C's network in Summerstand is usually great, I would get anything between 3 - 6Mbps during the day, and from midnight till 6am it would be anything between 9 - 10Mbps.

I have sent you a PM with the details to the situation.

The situation has not changed much... I also experienced some disconnections (moments where there is no data transfer). I have done a couple of speedtests... web pages are still slow at loading, downloads not moving fast (usually 400 - 500Kb/sec during the day, and 1.1MB/sec from midnight).

Location: Alice Lane, Sandton and Randpark Ridge
Date and time: All of this morning, Yesterday (Sunday), Wednesday to Friday (last week)
Device: Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 / Android Version 4.4.2
Contract: Yes, monthly (not a 6, 12 or something like that)
Existing ref: Nil
Speedtest.net: It is taking forever (well over 25 minutes to download it (15mb) & now says it is waiting for network)
Cell ID: ?? what is this ??

Any other info: For most of last week and now all of today so far, I am on Edge and Roaming. I cannot even download the app to do a speedtest. The first few times it timed-out. I am now +/- 40% into the download and it is hanging. It doesn't seem to affect calls that I have noticed, but use of data is limited to an IM (WhatsApp or the like).

I have restarted the phone, taken the battery out and still goes straight to Edge. Why? Is it me or is it the network of Cell C is deteriorating.

To rub salt in my "wound" I get a call from a chirpy fella on 084 145 wanting to sell me an upgrade :(
 
I mentioned earlier that I was having issues with the Cell C network in Summerstrand... the network went "back to normal" from yesterday:

Web pages and online gaming services are working as usual. Still would want Cell C to investigate though.

McT it seems you roaming on vodacom. Check your mobile network settings. It is might be manually set to vodacom, try changing it to automatic or Cell C.
 
For the last 2 years on my Cell C contract I only managed to get a 3G connection ONCE!!! I am currently trying to buy out the last couple of months on my contract with no success...any suggestions?
