Tried on different modems, both the ZTE 190 and the ZTE 680? and the internal modem on an acer aspire

I ported to Cell C, from MTN last Friday and after 4 days on always on HSPDA signal on my One X, today i cant get any signal.
I've been boasting and evangilizing my household to do the same and now the service bails on me.

It shows thats its sending signal out but no signal coming in, when i refresh my twitter feed the signal drops completely.

Renders my smartphone pretty useless!!!!!

Hi, Cell C, your backbones all overloaded ? Because reception is fine !

Edit :

Now much better over the weekend :

Is this all related to congestion from business traffic - I do live close to the Illovo office area ???

That is also the reason why I cannot use ADSL any more, the ADSL lines are completely congested.

lately i've been having the issue where i'd be browsing fine on my phone (sgs2) / tablet (ideos s7) and then all of a sudden pages time out. when i cancel any webpage requests, the data connection on my phone disconnects and then reconnects. this is happening more frequently now. at home in amanzimtoti and at work in pinetown.

cell c slooooow response times

hi....

I have a cell c 3g connection and this past week it has been immenesely slow. I was receiving pings of 500ms at stages and even every now and again it would spike to 800ms... Before, my connection was sufficient and my regular ping would be between 70 and 140... is there issues on the cell c network? I live in randburg ferndale. i have the ZTE MF190 modem...

Any other information relevant to the problem: Frequent disconnects

Getting frequent disconnects this evening. But have tested and it seems to happen with a 41.x IP, and not 197.x Also, I have started seeing 10.x IP addresses listed in my firewall. I've gone over to GRC to check this and it's listed as 41.x or 197.x, which is strange.

Here's a strange one. Whenever the wind is blowing then I have Cell C internet problems. Is that possible? 8ta seems fine at the moment but Cell C even though it stays connected loses throughput every now and then. I notice this regularly when the wind is blowing quite badly.

Is there a general Cell C issue at the moment? I'm able to connect with the 3G stick but can't browse anyting, getting a DNS lookup failed error message

So what was the outcome of this? It came right by itself later on during the day on Saturday

It's still useless. Sure, it was somewhat tolerable yesterday but this evening? Pah - Vodacom EDGE is suddenly feeling like gigabit fibre in comparison.

DNS timeouts, transfers reminiscent of 2400bps dialup, the service has been abominable since last week. Signal strength is no different from normal (51%) and there's no issues with making connections or keeping them up - just effectively no blasted Internet service!

*Trybble.

It has been terrible today, most of the day it didn't work at all, so could not do speedtest :

I am convinced that this is due to congestion, because 3G reception was OK.

Cell C ????

I have regular disconnect issues, dns errors and connection issues the last month or 2. It is really nerve recking.

Any other information relevant to the problem: Frequent disconnects

Getting frequent disconnects since day one. Staying in a well populated area. Ridiculous that my phone is constantly losing signal. Please advise. It sits with 1 bar or no signal most of the day. Have tested other sim cards and phones.

I also find my phone must be on 3G only to get 3G. On dual mode its shows only edge. Problem is when I travel to a place that does not have 3G coverage I must remember to change or else I have no coverage. I called cell c and they said its because edge signal stronger than 3G signal and that will be fixed shortly. That was about a year ago.
