Ja...if you check that article on mybb a bit back where they show the ratio etc...Cell C is better, but we have many more reports than cell c and much more clients! TSEK Cell C! lol

It's difficult to say that atm with their data prices being what they are :D I wish the other 2 would catch a wake up :(

I think you will enjoy CellC - it is beating the pants, and underpants, off VC.

Goodbye Vodacom

Finally got the cell c speed stick promotion today.

Very happy with it, faster and cheaper then Vodacom.

Now I can unsubscribe from this thread ;), see ya wooosh...

just smile and wave boys, smile, and wave.

Don't worry guys, Vodacom will bring us cheaper prices, even if we have to wait a year or two.
Who cares if CellC only charges R40 per gig, Vodacom will bring out a better deal soon, it's immenent

There, I fixed it for you ;)

And yes, they will bring out a better deal soon - VodacomData said so himself!
Hi

No price decrease on the cards at the moment but in the foreseeable future yes.

Thanks
VodacomData

It was almost 16 months ago, but you have to accept that big companies are like big trucks - they can't turn as fast as smaller cars that just wooosh around the corners!

I have just had to buy R389 of cat food for Vodacom this month because I don't have coverage. /sigh......the fat cat gets fatter.

I am spending time in an area where only Vodacom has 3G coverage. Although speed has never been my main motivation for getting rid of my E272 and Vodacom sim, it is FRUSTRATING to see how slow my SO's downloads are compared to when were using Cell C. Thank heavens it's only for a few days!

How can any company afford to be so lazy with competitive pricing? getting Cell C is almost 10 times cheaper, I really thought that maybe Vodacrap would have done something by now, the VC Managers etc must be really, really fat. Unable to watch TV, read etc... probably bedridden with sores.

I really just can't understand it.

On this topic I suspect that Vodacom will just merge the Night Owl data special with your present at the same price eg. 2G Advanced becomes 4G @ R385 pm.
Just my 2c worth.
I received the following SMS today via my data SIM.
"672138376310

Vodacom's Night Owl data promo has been extended to 31 March 2011!
SMS BALANCE to 100 (free) from your Vodafone Mobile Broadband Connection Manager to see how many FREE MBs you have to use between midnight and 5am.
T&C's apply. Opt out? SMS STOP to 30600 (free)"

You can add me to the list of new Wooossssshhhhhhhhh users. I said goodbye to Vodacom at the beginning of this month - after 3 years of data use, I bought two of those 5GB per month deals. I was skeptical before handing over my cash, because they are not as established as the other two. But, MAN, I am very very happy with this move to Cell C, great signals to my home and where I travel - and lightning fast....in fact, this is the very first time that I am now able to watch you tube videos without it stopping every few seconds to buffer. When you start to watch the video, the loading bar runs far ahead of where you are, and completes loading when you are only like one quarter of the way through the video.

I am like a kid in a candy store with my Cell C data deal

I'm also making the switch to the Cell C offer in January so Vodacom loses another customer. Cell C speed is not as good, but the pricing is an offer too good to refuse.

I'm really astonished VC and MTN haven't been bothered to come up with a counter-offer -- are they really not concerned by the huge amount of data business Cell C has been taking with their offer?

Don't think they have the infrastructure to do much, so they stay put, while they build and upgrade infrastructure ... , just my opinion ...

I'm a whoosh client after about 4 years too ;)
I'd be very curious to see how many Vodacom users have switched, because it actually seems like a fair number!
In that case, the existing Vodacom users may get a bit of a speedboost as the network won't be as congested ...

Downloads are around 3x quicker, uploads around 10x quicker and pings are a fraction of what they were (under 60ms locally). Occasionally I get too used to the Cell C, pop in Vodacom card, chuckle and return to Cell C with a big smile :)

I emailed support once and ... I received a reply with 12 hours! Not automated - from an engineer themselves!

Sad thing is Vodacom will still be getting my money until the contracts expire :/

For me it's not about a speedboost, but VC's insane data prices. :wtf:
