So my ADSL is installed, uncapped Internet account opened and I will save about R1100 per month, or about R2000 less for VodaCON. After giving VodaCON a month to get a better deal for us users, I finally decided to go and get a Telkom adsl line!

3gig for R258? wow thats still expensive

i get 3gigs for R89.

But of course that does not include dsl rental

I salute you sir. Spare a thought for me tonight when you are experiencing the Internet as it was meant to be. Weep.

Probably line rental + cap
Telkom 3GB = R489

OT: does telkom have prepaid 3G yet?

I can see that Vodacom are going to loose a lot of it's 2GB / high-end customers to Telkom. At that is so embarrassing because come on, it's Telkom :-/

I'm saying good-bye too... my saving will be approximately R1200/month. Vodacom was good when it was the only option, but somehow nobody at Vodacom seems to want to understand mobile users are less interested in Tb/s than in R/s.

I agree 100%

Vodacom: the new iBurst

-They keep their over inflated prices for years
-They try to impress us with idiotic gimmicks

Hey OC , what we going to do , eveyone's leaving.....:(

Not my place to say...but I think something drastic needs to be done. I think Vodacom needs to take the lead and drop prices drastically and make 3G enticing once again...as it was years ago. But that is not up to me or you....they need to look at churn and see for themselves.

I think your sarcasm sums up Vodacom's attitude to their customers.

VD, Vodacom must seriously look at customers that use HSDPA in fixed locations. It would be very interesting to see what percent of customers and of revenue Vodacom get from customers that are mostly connected to one tower. There are many subscribers that have and continue to use HSDPA due to Telkom not being able to provide infrastructure or Neotel not having coverage.

However, this is changing and many that I know that can now get Telkom ADSL are shifting. In my complex, Telkom have starting installing lines and have put a box with 1000 connections.

I need between 10 and 20GB per month and cannot justify paying R2000/R4000 per month when ADSL users get that for around R700 per month.

Hi Guys

So sorry if i sounded sarcastic , that was not my intention. I am genuinely worried about clients leaving our network or not renewing their contracts.

OK, but how about knocking on some doors for us ? So that something gets done !

I don't want to move to MTN Pre-paid 3G, IMO MTN service stinks !!!
