I suppose even if we had to throw in a free state of the art laptop and a 21Mbs modem for free we would still not be satisfied....................;)

I couldnt help but :D at that.
Reminds me of the glomail adds on tv.
"....AND WAIT THERE IS MORE !!!!...."

Is this some sort of internal joke there at Vodacom: "Why don't we give them a 'free' laptop on contract, :D :D :D, then :D, we can, :D, fleece them another two years for bandwidth... :D :D... Oh that will be too funny."

Like that's going to mean anything to me:confused: I'm on prepaid:wtf:

We just want bigger data bundles for our money, no fancy laptops or higher speeds. Can't you understand it once and for all!!!!!!!!!!

You want satisfied customers?
REALLY?!

It's quite simple.
R50-R100 per gig.
How about we start there?

Is it really that hard to understand?
Is it REALLY such a tough concept to grasp?
REALLY?!?!

Now that DSL has gone uncapped at decent rates, capped at R10-R25 per gig...
REALLY?!?! YOU STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO GET US SATISFIED?!?!

Seems I can now actually understand the shoe-size-equivalent IQ of Vodacom altogether.

Well , i would like to have cheaper fuel prices , interest rates , electricity prices and other things that would make a difference in my life ..................but hey :)

*sigh*... what is going on at Vodacom HQ?
Looks like they're just matching MTN's pricing again, but only in the bigger bundles. MTN are much cheaper on the small bundles and all of MTN's bundles are 'advanced' in that OOB=IB.

I just don't get why they can't offer R100 a gig. At that price people aren't going to be leaching stuff off their network. It is cheaper to buy the DVD than download it...

Would this not be simpler ?

I used to think I was OK with understanding packages and pricing of certain technology, but everything in the last month has confused me :/

Wouldn't it be easier to administer (for Vodacom) and understand (for public) if you charged a mandatory R50.00pm admin fee and 10c per MB there after? No packages?

Use 200MB, pay R70.00
Use 800MB, pay R130.00
Use 1.5GB, pay R200.00
Use 3GB, pay R350.00

No advanced, no standard, no OOB, no in bundle, no packages, no 'free data' - just simple!

I'm aware some other broadband providers come here and test the waters before launching a product :/ It's not that I'm complaining of your price, but more of the confusion you're causing ...

Wow, thanks Vodacom - I went onto the Vodacom4me site to buy a new bundle, and I see they are now giving a few extra megs data for the same price. Whoopidodah, thanks Vodacom, that will give me one extra day of broadband use........but is that it ? till April next year ? How about rather droppping the price per GB by R100 ?

Methinks that Khanya works for Vodacom, or at least suffers from the same delusion.

Dolby, Vodacom do not want to offer a simple clear-cut solution, they want to offer confusing solutions that make it next to impossible to compare their packages with the competition's (MTN) packages.

Also, the whole data bundle deal is a scam of note. It's a dishonest business practice where they automatically charge the customer out of bundle rates in an uncontrollable manner.
Vodacom are very much in love with their current confusing system.

All I'm sayin'. They should stick to these stupid bundles, but lower them damn prices, and certainly not introduce that. 1G - 80 bucks. Or start offering some form of uncapped just like their competitors. Nuff said.

... how can a single price per MB be more confusing? :/

PAY MORE, GET LESS

When I started reading how Vodacom had cut their Broadband Advanced deals "Again" and the illogical methods they are using to simply confuse the customer into spending more money on, an unreliable, slow and extremely expensive connection, thats when I really started getting annoyed.

Going into this thread just got me even more angry. Is it really that hard for VodaCon to simplify their data-bundles and reduce their per/meg price to a competitive rate.

You see I am on a 3GB Broadband Standard Contract. Simply put I am paying an arm and a leg and there are people paying even more than me (BUT NO WE GET NO EXTRA FREE DATA NOTHING, WTF).

..::Oh and VodaCon you can take your outdated, underpowered laptop and %@#@ it. By the time I have paid off that laptop who knows what I could have bought::..

WE JUST WANT SIMPLER & CHEAPER INTERNET, IS IT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND.:twisted:

PS: Does anyone know if it possible to cancel a contract with no penalties, before it expires IE 6 months to go, on the bases that signal in the area is to bad and vodacom ignored my service requests?

they would prefer to charge 100 000 people R250 for x amount of MB's a month, knowing that only a small percentage of them are going to get close to the actual value they are paying. They make alot of thier money from ppl not utilizing the entire package.

Like with me, I have 3 x telkom 3Gig accounts. Sometimes i use 15 gigs, and sometimes i use 2 gigs, but i still pay for the entire 15gigs. So my loss or thier gain?

+1 I like this idea.

I hear a lot of people are in pain as they are bound to a 24 month contract. For those who are thinking about taking out a 24 data contract, PLEASE DON'T. Do this rather as you have more power, something which Vodacom and MTN do not like.

1. Buy a modem cash or use your existing one. If you don't have the cash, get a credit card and get it. They can be as cheap as R1000 if you look around.
2. Buy your bundles each month. If you are a 1GB user, buy a 2GB bundle that lasts you 60 days which will cost you R194.50 instead of R289 a huge savings
3. If there is a month you are going on holiday and need only 500mb, then you have the power to do that and not waste your money.

Please people, don't sign a 24 month contract with this greedy bastad blady agents

I know everyone knows this but I can't help but feel so peeved about it

MyGig 2.5 (Advanced) R469.00 0.18/MB
MyGig 3 (Advanced) R799.00 0.26/MB

How can they do this? This is so wrong.
