Vodacom Data Cheaper than MTN!

I guess this topic hasn't been covered, Yesterday I needed to buy a small data bundle and came across this interesting information:D

A 300MB data bundle

  • MTN = R149.00
  • Vodacom = R139.00 (Save R10)

For R189.00 you will get

  • MTN = 500MB
  • Vodacom = 600MB(100MB Extra)

For R289.00

  • MTN = 1GB
  • Vodacom = 1.2GB(0.2GB Extra)

Sure with MTN you actually paying more for a better out of data bundle rate, but for those who don't really care for that and just want straight forward data.I mean really how are you going keep tabs on data usage? I brought a R10 10mb data bundle on MTN and the out of data-bundle rate is R1/MB,thou to me it seemed normal R2/MB. Vodacom seems to be a good solution for now.

What do yo guys think?

P.S Im not a Vodacom or MTN DIE-HARD fan kinda guy, i use the network if the price is right:D

Killed my 3g contract the beginning of the year.

Have no ADSL at home, just buy a bundle once in a while.
Costing me half of what the contract did.

Hi

No price decrease on the cards at the moment but in the foreseeable future yes.

Thanks
VodacomData

it usually takes someone like mtn to drop prices to activate the "forseeable future" part. i wonder why

Too true.

Old thread, old topic, old answers. Let's hope CellC has brought about some incentive for change within these buggers.

Isn't it amazing:
Bread suppliers get hauled in front to the Competition Commission, gets fined billions.
Fertilizer suppliers get hauled in front to the Competition Commission, gets fined billions.
The list goes on...
Why aren't Vodacom and MTN investigated? It is impossible that their rates are so similar...

Then again - after the billions have been paid prices (except for fertilizer) never come down...

I've always wondered what the point of the fine is instead of offering much better prices to the consumer for a certain period of time.

Price-fixing is a crime. And we know Vodacom would never do that.

The point has always been to stop companies from doing it in the first place. In the past this has not been very successful, because the cost of the fine was probably just passed on to the customer. New legislation (in place now I believe) will hold company directors personally liable, and they can go to jail.

It's quite simple actually. No one has the balls todo anything about it.

Bump bump....

Vodacon is making a noise about their super network, how about making an effort on pricing for a change??

Price fixing, what price fixing? Failing to change the price for +-3 Years along with your competitor is not price fixing...

That is not what he said, he was responding to:
