No price decrease on the cards at the moment but in the foreseeable future yes.

it usually takes someone like mtn to drop prices to activate the "forseeable future" part. i wonder why![]()

Bread suppliers get hauled in front to the Competition Commission, gets fined billions.
Fertilizer suppliers get hauled in front to the Competition Commission, gets fined billions.
The list goes on...
Why aren't Vodacom and MTN investigated? It is impossible that their rates are so similar...
Then again - after the billions have been paid prices (except for fertilizer) never come down...

I've always wondered what the point of the fine is instead of offering much better prices to the consumer for a certain period of time.

Price-fixing is a crime. And we know Vodacom would never do that.
Price fixing, what price fixing? Failing to change the price for +-3 Years along with your competitor is not price fixing...
