@PBCool If I ask for router to be couried to me, at what stage does pro-rata billing start? When you configure router or when it’s reveived and I’m connected?

Hi, it depends on the network, it's usually as the account is created which then gives you access to use the line.

@pbcool... a mate of mine already has fibre, on Vuma, but wants to change ISP's... looking for a 100Mbps package... any extra costs he has to worry about if he moves to you?

The unifi AP comes with a POE injector and power supply. But note that if you buy a 5 pack, then you don't get the POE adaptor and psu with them. Once you have the AP, you mount it, typically in the ceiling and run an ethernet cable from the AP to your router. You then plug the cable into the POE injector, plug the PSU into a power supply and run an ethernet cable from the POE injector to your router.

Then switch everything on and give things a minute to startup. In order to configure the AP, you'll need to download the UNIFI controller software from here https://www.ubnt.com/download/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-lr and install that and java on your PC, then run the controller to configure everything. During the installation, the software will locate your device(s) via the network and allow you to setup the SSID etc. much like normal. Once everything is setup, you no longer need to run the controller software. But if you need to change anything, then you'll need to run the controller software again.

HTH
Thank you @coop.

I may be jumping the gun some here...

I placed order on Monday night. I got the router yesterday.

Didn't realise there was FICA to be done till I went into 'client area'. I uploaded necessary docs there and then.

The ticket show it is closed, which makes me think it was successfully received.

My 'noob' question is this: approx. how long before an account is activated & when should I expect to receive that info?

Thanks in advance :)

Can you get someone to look at #COOL-20170918-37721?
Waiting > 24hours for a reply everytime is getting a little old...

I’v bought from Uniterm Direct, www.dbg.co.za

I believe they are the official distributors.

I also bought my Ubiquiti equipment from them, except for the UniFi Gateway and Cloud Key which only Scoop had in stock. Uniterm had a nice selection of tools, connectors and UV resistant cabling too.

Hi there, no startup costs from our side.

Due to the 6000 home outage recently from Vumatel tickets have a higher time to resolve as we close thousands of them, will escalate for you.

PM me your details and I'll have someone reach out to you. Alternatively call the office 0105932665

Cool Ideas sent me a second router today for some reason :)

I already had one hand delivered about 2 weeks ago, today Fedex rock up and deliver another one. Maybe they saw I hadn't used the first one yet and were like, maybe if we send him another one he'll use it.

I have sent support a ticket asking them to organise the collection of the "duplicate".

Also Octotel is supposed to be coming by today for a third time to try and get my fibre installed. I really hope they can figure something out, it's going on week 3 now that I've had the router sitting here with no fibre!

Many thanks. I made contact with your office on the number supplied. All going well, I should be able to go live this evening.

Do you have a particularly difficult route into your place ? They managed to do mine within about 1 hour.

Hope you come right soon.

Blocked conduits, body corporate delays and miscommunication. The installers were here again now and left again without being able to do anything as apparently one of the civils guys discussed some other plan with the building trustees yesterday and decided to not let me know what was going on.
