Should be fine, does it have a WAN port?

Yes has EWAN port.
How do you guys sync this switching over process so that I'm not left without Internet for a day or so ?
If I cancel today then I should be switched over by when exactly considering today is the 23 Nov and 30 days would be 23 Dec assuming you guys are working in Dec?

Just liaise with [email protected] MFN should switch over to us on day of cancellation but it can be delayed from their side at times.

Hi all just a note I will be abroad for just over 2 weeks so responses may not be as quick as I would like for the term.

Vumatel, Cape Town. Netflix not really that great, struggling to get 720p. On a 20/20 line :-/

Me too, no proxy (someone tell me how that still works, by the way).

Is it cabled in? And is it at particular times or all the time? Our Netflix cache in JHB feeds all the region's.

@PBCool

I see CloudFlare is now available in Cape Town, but it routes through JHB instead of direct over NapAfrica CT. Would be awesome if CISP can set up peering with them in CT.

For references, I am on Vumatel in Cape Town with CISP.

Yeah sure will have a look, often they will selectively advertise as well.

It is a roku streaming stick device so it cannot be cabled. I understand wifi can be a problem, but I never have wifi issues here - on a different channel than everyone around me.

Usually around 19:00 to 21:00 at night. You can see the stats on the roku device - so it will go up to 7Mb/s, then drop to 1.5Mb/s etc. Daytime it is fine.

Tell me if there is a specific site (or sites) that I should smokeping from my side to be able to give better info @PBCool - the smokeping is running on a linux box that is hard wired to the router.

After two months of hassles, I'm finally online but still not quite finished with my problems.

I'm paying for 200/200, only getting 200/20 at the moment:

Most likely a configuration issue with the Fibre provider. Must have set your line speed to 200/20 instead of 200/200.

Anyone have any info about Microtik router shortages in Cape Town? I'm trying to get Fibre in Century City through Cool Ideas but apparently Frogfoot say there are shortages.

Twitch has been terrible these past few days, i can't even get a stable 200kb\s atm. I hope it fixes itself soon.

I use the Twitch 5 extension in Chrome and it greatly aids with buffering. Was going to link it but it's not showing up in the Chrome store or Google results, and the 'view store page' link for it is broken. It still gets updated frequently, so dunno wtf is going on with it.

Yea also been having issues with twitch, when I set it to auto quality it varies from source to 160p randomly. Previously had the twitch5 extension but removed it and now can't find it on the store either.
