Why only packet loss to some of the sites?

Tell me if there is a specific site (or sites) that I should smokeping from my side to be able to give better info @PBCool - the smokeping is running on a linux box that is hard wired to the router.
Usually your first public hop is a good idea.

After two months of hassles, I'm finally online but still not quite finished with my problems.

I'm paying for 200/200, only getting 200/20 at the moment:

I presume this is aerial? It means Vumatel haven't configured the line properly. Send me your ticket number.

Anyone have any info about Microtik router shortages in Cape Town? I'm trying to get Fibre in Century City through Cool Ideas but apparently Frogfoot say there are shortages.
Century City have a weird setup with the DSTV etc so they fibre into a 2011 and vlan split the services.

@phuma - have a look here, is some things I monitor: https://netmon.heaven.za.net/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=CISP

I am Vumatel (not aerial) in Bellville. So on that link you will see bunch of CISP related IPs. 1st hop, next hop ect.
I also added a London CISP IP, which I believe would route on CISPs network from CPT to JHB then to LON and back on CISPs backhaul, because most other international routes out directly in CPT through another IP transit provider at the moment.

Currently the graphs dont look as good as they should, because my line sometimes maxes out at 20Mbps. Will be back on 100Mbps on 1st of Dec then the graphs will look much better.

Latency and throughput pretty poor at the moment on Vumatel in Weltevredenpark -

I'm on a 20/2 account - results over ethernet.

edit: Second reboot of everything did the trick - weird.

I am a but confused, people are digging in my area and I have asked maltiple people working there such as the supervisors and all are saying it's MTN installing fiber. But when i look at the big poster they put up, it's says DFA. does anyone know the correlation between the two? If this is MTN fiber, is IPC a problem or can it be ignored. Hoping this is MTN because Cool Ideas have a great price for the 100 meg package

Something is seriously wrong with my connection atm. 120+ms latency to Google and crazy packet loss.

I am losing my patience here. Some sites just have insanely high packet loss. Internet is unusable for me on 20/20 fibre.

It is never anything local to Cape Town - i.e. the Cybersmart web site. Nor is something like news.bbc.co.uk ever affected.

It is quite frustrating though.

@PBCool, I know you are abroad but can you please escalate this?? I logged a ticket over 2 weeks ago, #COOL-20171110-52629... Have a look at my steam download speeds... Not to mention the countless speedtest results I added to the ticket as requested, why pay for a 100mb service when I cant get more than 20mb down for the last 2 weeks

Sure will get it to the support manager.

@PBCool - You and your staff are doing an amazing job.

Frogfoot installed my line on Thursday, it was provisioned on Friday around 15:00. Called the call centre, had my 50/50 line activated with you guys just before 17:00. Got home, entered the details and BOOM - internet running full speed. No problems experienced yet.

Damian even called me on Saturday to follow up that everything was working. So big shout out to him and his service.
