Any downtime in Cape Town, Brackenfell with Octotel? all PON lights are green but not picking up the PPPoE Server currently

Logged a ticket:
COOL-20180117-70205

But looks like will be without fibre today

Edit: 9pm still down hopefully gets resolved tomorrow. Would love to know what caused it as my neighbors in same street have connectivity so either Octotel screwed up trying to fix my Intl Speed issues are vanilla tried to grab my line too early. If that is the case already regretting the upcoming switch

Anyone experiencing outgoing TCP connection issue where they drop after 15~20 seconds.
Also youtube streaming seems very slow. This is on a 50Mb SADV line

No known outages so more than likely a line fault.

Have you logged it? If it was network wide we would be aware of it :)

Well hopefully does not take too long to get sorted out would suck majorly to be without fibre for the whole weekend still awaiting feedback for what caused an issue originally take it must be some major config issue or my ONT decide to die

Had my fibre now from cool Ideas for 2 months now and just want to say what an awesome job you guys are doing. Been loving my low pings to EU servers as well as streaming tv from the US.

Just a couple of the hiccups of when the line went down the other night for nearly 24 hours in Constantia Kloof but as discussed before it was a Vumatel issue which you have clarified

Keep up the good work fellas!!

... Just completed Application form for CISP.
For now will go with Openserv and CISP, and wait for VUMA to complete, then change from OS to Vuma.

Just collected my new router from the offices. Effortless and back home running it as an AP for the bedrooms. Thanks @PBCool

You won't be disappointed. I got my neighbour to move from Crystal Web to Cool Ideas and he's been happy.

For now I'm going from a 40/20 Mbps package to a 20/10Mbps and it's costing me R100/month because of the Openserve to CISP costing compared to Openserve to CrystalWeb...

Will upgrade nicely (100/10 or 100/100) once Vuma gets their act sorted out.

So feedback i got is that CI cancelled my line yesterday instead of migrate it? WTH why? so now i am most likely stuck without Fibre for the rest of the month this is after support blames Octotel for my line being down on the ticket so guess there might be more to it. Well here is hoping it was a simple mistake and can be fixed way before the end of the month

anyone else in the noordhang/juksei/olivedale area having fibre issues? I am getting constant packet loss...

Where did you get this feedback from? Why would we cancel a line if it's being migrated to us?

Cool Ideas Fiber ISP - Feedback

@PBCool, Do you perhaps know what the relation between MTN, Seacom and ECN Fibre networks would be?

I have clients that use the MS 365 product, and from 13:14 this afternoon they all lost connection to the Europian DC for 365, I don’t have all the fibre SPs names.

Internet access seems to be fine for most other sites, only issue for 365. When they connect with 3G it works.

So Fibre, Gauteng and from 13:14 365 issues.

You can log in to the Webmail interface, but when you click on Outlook, it gives an error.

I try to figure out what all of them have in common to pinpoint the problem.

Hope you have some background info.

By when did Vumatel say will they upgrade their equipment in Cape Town? Stuff is going a bit pear shaped again :-( Local appears fine, but up to Gauteng is a bit wobbly.

I don't but we did notice some wierd stuff on the MS service side, I don't think it has to do with the transport side of things but more the service side.

The 30th but the limitations would apply to all traffic, not just to Gauteng. Do you have an example for me?
