That would help explain it.

This morning, my speeds seem normal again. Just need CISP to confirm what happened.
We don't use Seacom so it is unrelated, can you post more info as in: location? Fibre line provider? What were out downloading that was slow?

Hey PB,

Randburg/olivedale area
Fibrehoods Aerial
I noticed my hulu was having issues and did some speed tests. Local was perfect, I then saw that my international was very slow. I also attempted to download some drivers from NVidia UK and confirmed that my international traffic was slow.

I tested downloading the same drivers this morning and was downloading properly, so something was not right last night.

Do you know what time this was? More than likely packet loss on the line or aerial network.

this was around 7:30pm onwards. I did notice some packet loss on TeamSpeak, but only around 2.5-4% packet loss. If packet loss was an issue, could that only effect international traffic? My local traffic was 50/50 when i tested.

@PBCool,after lots of struggles,Vuma's been out to my sister's and said the CPE is fine

But the CPE blue light flashes permanently,Vuma even went as far as to say it's not working because they connect to the router via Wifi vs Cable

Am I wrong in thinking it's supposed to get a dynamic IP,and allow access to the Vuma portal to "order" your service, even after they already ordered it directly

Yeah packet loss has an amplified effect on international due to the retransmits taking that much longer vs local traffic with low latency.

Flashing blue means fibre or provisioning fault, can you PM me your ticket number.

Makes sense.

I have submitted a request, is it possible to check my line and see if there is still issues?

If it is fine now there is no point in logging it to be honest, we will just get a response of "the line is fine".

Something is still wrong. I checked now and i tested 3 different locations, London, Frankfurt and Dublin. My download is fine, but my upload seems to be capped at 5mbps for all of them. I have added this to the ticket.

Are you having issues uploading to any service?

@PBcool - got the monthly invoice via email, but only because I was clearing out my spam folder. I've whitelisted the email address, but may be worth investigating why Gmail is flagging it as spam.

@PBCool did you guys drop the price of your 50 Mbps product on SADV from R999 to R899? Nice!

We send via an anti-spam service seems to only be Gmail that thinks it's spam, but will investigate. Thanks for the heads up.

I did a test to an AWS S3 bucket and was uploading at around 1.1mb/s. I saw the occasional spike to 2.5mb/s and then back down.

And what is the normal upload rate you would get?
