This might have been asked several times but trust me, your replies are going to help.

I live in Sunninghill and use Greencom and really want to move Service Providers. Their service is horrible and they clearly don't know how to open ports (they block all ports by default). I want to move to FireStream by I've now stumbled on to CISP.

Would you recommend CISP?

Definitely yes

Hi @PBCool,
Are you guys have any issues with Vuma Aerial in Athol?
Connectivity is very erratic

Nothing we are aware of, can you elaborate?

Thanks for the quick response... seemed to be experiencing periods or no connectivity and then connectivity but very slow. It seems to be ok now...
Will keep an eye on it

You're testing over LAN on an idle line, right?

That site is pretty terrible on my side too:

Code:
$ curl -o /dev/null ftp://ftp-test.telkomadsl.co.za/64Meg-test.file
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
100 62.5M 100 62.5M 0 0 524k 0 0:02:02 0:02:02 --:--:-- 1043k

Also getting pretty weird throughput curves on that download:

I tend to agree that it looks like Vumatel issues might not be resolved. NZB's that used to run around 23Mb/s now hover anything from 10-15. At times spike up to 20, then comes down again. This only happens in happy hours.
Very inconsistent speeds.

Outside of happy hours speed is normal.

My packet loss are right on time it would seem.

Can anyone on the Vuma Aerial run the following and let me know the results if possible?

.\iperf3.exe -R -u -b 20M -p 17001 -c lnms.cisp.co.za

Its because it probably routes back through London instead of over a local peering link. I have sent an email to @PBCool about it. Haven't heard back yet, but I am sure he is looking into it, as it can take a while.

NNTP in the ****ter tonight. Cannot get past 7MBps on a 200mbps line.

(using newsgroup ninja).

@PBCool - any idea what's going on? (Vumatel Blairgowrie)

Nothing we are aware of in the area and no issues on the network. Have you tried another service?
