But - strange - I did not complete any info with CI, so how do they know my details, specifically account info to debit? Did I miss something?

We get your details from the Vumatel registration but you still need to complete our application for billing etc.

I hear you, lets blame Vumatel than... at the end of the day I complain to the vendor/supplier that I pay monthly premium to, in this case its the ISP ( Cool ideas ), hence my complaint is to them. And if I complain to Vumatel anyway they will refer me back to Cool Ideas by default, and how do you know that its Vumatel but not Cool ideas problem?

Oh btw I responded to Zodiak who also complained about slow speeds this evening and he is on another infrastructure i.e Evotel. :)

No known issues, and no notifications from Vumatel but no issues on our side last night. Are you still having issues tonight?

I created a ticket (without any response) asking if I could be put onto 200Mbps instead of having my price cut by roughly the same amount it previously cost to upgrade from 100 to 200Mbps. Is this something that could be done for me?

Sure, when did you log it?
 
Just signed up with cisp on Vumatel. 100/10. Only getting 88-92mbs. This is not over wifi. Upload is 10+. is this normal? I want my full 100mbs download! It looks like everyone else is getting 100+
I used two brand new routers and get the same speed. Brackenfell #COOL-20180427-97919

Have you tried bypassing your router and straight into the CPE? Which routers are you trying?

Forgot to mention that it's obviously cool if my billing goes to R1919 and not the slightly reduced rate I was on.

Thanks for sorting this out for me. Can't wait!

I will get feedback for you, but with the 200Mbps being a new package I don't think it's price will reduce.

Where too did you do the speed test to get your results.
At speedtest.net try these Cape Town based servers, Interworks, Clearaccess, Cybersmart, WebAfrica.

You can also use the Cape Town Vumatel Fibre Customers link:
http://speed3-sa.venturanext.se/

But keep in mind, you will not always get full speeds to every server, there are variables that influence results.
 
Yes i did. Using Tenda dual band and tp link Archer. I did a million speedtests to local Cape Town servers. It looks like everyone else is getting full speed and i am stuck with a slow line!

Do those routers have gigabit ports?

That sounds very odd! Can you post a few results here?
Below is my results.

ClearAccess


Interworks


Cybersmart


WebAfrica

So you can see it highly depends on the test server what your results will be.

Did you enable any sort of QoS or Bandwidth Control settings in the routers, as I have found that greatly affects your speeds in a negative way, you don't get full line speed.
Also did you change you MTU value?

Yes the Archer got gigabit ports. Its a brand new line that was activated yesterday :-)
 
Does the WAN port on the Archer sync at 100 or 1000Mbit with the ONT?

If its a cat5 cable, its possible your router is syncing at 100Mbit, so your speedtests will be slightly below 100Mbit. The other one is, the link from the router to your PC must also sync at 1000Mbit.

Yes openserve. But i see you have already answered that question. Permanent pricing looks much better than before. How long does transfer take from another ISP and will I have downtime?
