Yes so usually it is defined as the layer2 portion which is the fibre provider, they backhaul it to our handover point which for aerial is in Rosebank. Some other ISPs have it backhauled to Teraco for instance. So in this case there Vumatel aerial side has two fibre routes that service those areas, usually a dark fibre route as primary and a lit fibre route as backup. From what I can tell is they didn't pickup the dark route had failed when they should of, hence degraded services at peak time.PBCool - so having read most of these comment (93.72%) I am unsure to what extend the ISP is to blame and to what extend the Fibre Provider is to blame for "degraded" service.
From what I understand the provider's network needs to get you to a POP (the where the ISP gives you "Internet breakout" as best as they can to their preferred Internet Exchange). The ISP can provide some preferential routing once you are on "their" network, but up to there you are basically in the hands of the Fibre provider (Vuma, Openserve, Metro, etc)?
Hi All, so Vumatel have come back stating there was a fibre fault on the primary path affecting these areas and all ISPs associated. They say it was repaired early this morning. So please check and let me know? I have also requested feedback on why this took days to resolve.

Do you have a longer history on your smoke ping IE a few weeks or a month? Are you having issues with other EU hosts? Not sure what more evidence to provide here. Besides its only EU international performance affected.
