Yip sorry best I could do on the phone. But to say that that image shows cisp as the major packet loss. All cool though sent to cisp support in higher res.

Well PBCool has confirmed the same router is acting up, its odd I'm not feeling anything though, downloading at a solid 10MB/s.

I'm getting about 3% packet loss but no degraded service compared to the 30% of last night so not sure if it is across the board but I can't really complain everything is working my side.

Service in JHB for Vumatel aerial and Trenched would have been affected for about 30 seconds each time as per the ping plotter. Service should be stable until tomorrow.

I'm on ADSL and have check my vox and webafrica account and seems something died in the past 30 minutes. Sites don't load. Not even youtube or twitch. Something died I think.

Same here, my Web Africa ADSL went to complete crap about an hour ago, up and down with very little loading, so something big must be down.

I’m in Sunningdale, Cape Town.

Apparently a link between Pretoria and cape town is down and telkom are working on it at the moment.

Sorry if I missed it but is there anywhere on the cool ideas profile page where I can see my usage? For curiosity sake.

Unfortunately not, you can monitor on your router or your devices obviously :)

Thanks, how annoying. :)

Used to be on some 20meg 120Gb cap on another isp.

Moved to cool ideas for the uncapped but 10meg speed. 100 rand cheaper.

Wife forgot to switch off dstvnow the other night and guess what. I didn't care. Just curious to know since I can't be bothered to reset usage on my router.

Thanks for an awesome offering.

Yeah the whole point is not to worry about usage.

Frogfoot has massive delays, they are one of the slowest providers to deliver and to respond. Our portion is simply issuing you an account once the line is ready so there is no holdup from our end. Let me know if by Tuesday the line isn't active as yet.

So Frogfoot called last night and advised they can't see my ONT from their side, so another technician is coming to troubleshoot on site today. Sigh. :(

Ahoy!

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to move from one ISP to the other ?

I have cancelled with SADV and applied with Cool Ideas as from 1/8/2018. I haven't had any significant feedback as yet apart from SADV saying they are waiting for Cool Ideas and vice versa.

Hoping for uninterrupted connection comes August.

Yeah as mentioned our portion is simple, if the layer2 is done we can issue an account within a few mins.

Depends on what ONT you were using because they often have to swap it out, either way there should be minimal downtime.

PBCool hi

Been having a strange issue on CISP lately. (Actually for like the last month or so, maybe a bit longer) But its getting a bit much now for me

I have trenched fibre via frogfoot, I am CPT based, 10/10 speed.

Everything is working exactly as required for all but Twitch streaming.
I have netflix, amazon prime. Both stream perfectly. Youtube? Never a problem. The odd torrent, also perfect speeds.
Steam downloads? 1.4mb ez.

But twitch streaming, I cannot get higher than 360p and even on that it buffers from time to time. I have 4 pc's in my house, they all do the same. 2 are cabled, 2 are wifi. Speed tests are perfect on all the machines. I've restarted router/ ONT multiple times, no difference. On top of this, I also installed a wireless N adapter on one of my laptops just to make sure it wasn't the on-board WiFi being crappy.

Prior to the streaming on twitch going wonky, if you streamed a vid, and looked at that Advanced tab in the stream, it would buffer about 5 seconds of data then flicker to 4 seconds then back to 5 then back to 4. So this seems like a stable stream.

Now with streaming being broken, looking at the advanced tab, it buffers up to around 7 or 8 seconds, then stays there for a bit and then chunks down until 0 seconds. Then i watch a buffer circle, it grows to about 4 seconds, the stream starts playing, it goes upto around 8 seconds and then incrementally drops down to 0 again, and just does this constantly.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or has anyone had this issue?

Would really like to stream the odd game again without looking at pixels and blurs on 160p

Thanks

Hard to say, is this on all streams from all locations? Can you PM your IP? And what result do you get on an international speedtest to London?
