Although I wonder why it takes 8 hours? I thought the configuration is quick 10 - 20 mins.

Hi, wonder if you can help me.
Placed my order with Vuma a while ago and with CoolIdeas, but a few people in my area have their fibre working already.
I called Vuma today to see if they can come and install and they told me my area is not live yet and they cannot come do the install till the whole area is live, but a neighbour a few houses away has his live? Also spoke to other people in my area and theirs is also live?
How is this possible :(

Is possible your area is live but your block isn't, did Vumatel give you an indication at all as when they would install?

on your coolisp portal.

See - I can pick any package except the 200/200

I see it on the vuma shop portal though.

Could be but the call centre aren't up to date as the area is live on their site. Nope, haven't heard from them since their last email 30 June stating they're about to go live...

@pbcool

The pricing for the 50/5 on Vumatel is still the old price uncapped. When will that be updated? Should be R949.

Hi Cool Ideas,

So I took some time to put your connection through it's paces. I did non specific TCP transactions internationally & nationally. It appears that your connection is slower than my 40mb/s DSL connection via Afrihost. I am wondering if this is to be expected or are you having issues?

Call their HO and ask to speak to installations. If you don't come right PM me your account details and I can try out channels.

You can send me your results to paul at cisp.co.za and I can help resolve for you.

Thanks. Mailed them.

I also made the changes on the cisp support portal.

How long does the updated take?
It's just a code change usually and that updates the rate.

Yeah those speeds are lovely, but on local servers...as soon as I try to do a speedtest to international servers I get almost the same speeds as when I was on 100mbps maybe slightly faster... which is 80-120mbps, not more, so not so impressed.
Also I tried P2P the entire day on the 200mbps link and It seems for some reason that it has been limited to 5MB/s only which is about 40mbps. However Cool Ideas say that they are not shapping any traffic which is a bit odd that any torrent gets a max 5MB/s and I am on a gigabit network/no wifi.

Here are some speedtests to International servers which are more suited to the 100mbps but defintely havent reached anything close to 180-200mbps:
London: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6504268940
New York: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6504286367
Frankfurt: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6504292486
