so testing this a little further it seems to only effect 1080p downloads. Any other def comes down at max line speed. IDM allows one to select specific resolutions...

Scrap that... does it on 720p too...

Higher res full line speed to completion..
PBCool so same video, just different resolutions... Quite interesting...

I can live with these results. Hope it stays this way.

Do you have an example for me? A hostname that's not resolving?

It was very random but an example would be mybroadband.co.za wouldn't load until multiple refreshes and then Mweb's Gamezone page then it would be fine and then it would happen again. Youtube videos would time out.

This sorted now though? Thanks for the feedback.

Just realised that there was some Octotel maintenance that knocked down my internet last night while I'm away. For some reason it didn't reconnect automatically when it came back and showed it was connected but had no traffic moving through.

Good thing I have a backup line and OpenVPN connection so I was able to get in remotely and manually disconnect the fibre wan and reconnect and now it's fine.

I think you summed it up. The fibre rush is exactly that, rushed. Mad competitive, constant upgrades and new infrastructure rolling out. Things will settle down as the country is saturated with fibre and networks are more focused on fine tuning rather than expanding footprints

Yeah you can apply the exact same terminology at unlimited drinking fountains in the USA, no one abuses them as its a standard over there. If most restaurants started the drink all your want for R15 or so people would abuse it hell and beyond at first and then maybe it will be removed due to idiots filling their coke bottles etc, otherwise if you fight the battle and let people know its there to stay then most would probably drink 1 drink and be happy.

Can I please get this damn line sorted I mean it's worse that DSL, Openserve with Cisp just does not work everyday lag spikes all over the show paying alot for this and my 4G is better, inconsistent up and down everyday.

Sorry to hear do you have a ticket number for me?

Yeah, I also get that sometimes...everything works well except Twitch which would buffer every 10 seconds.

Hoping it stays stable when the 2v2 matches start.

Got smoother streams having switched over to the desktop app. At least now quake 2v2 finals was fine at source 720p60...
