Any issues with throughput with Vuma trenched in Farrarmere? Notably poor speeds when using Steam, Origin and Battle.net. 200mbit link and struggling to get above 4mb/s download speed. Do the same on my other link and we get full line speed.

Nothing we have been noted to, have you logged it? What is your other link?

Haven't logged it yet, didn't want to clutter things if it was something small, as everything else is running at full speeds (Netflix, Youtube, Showmax etc). Can log one if it will assist with troubleshooting.
Other link is a 100mbit Afrihost on TT Connect.

PM me your object number or account details?

Is there a difference running with Cool Ideas on Vumatel or SADV?
Think you might need to be more specific with regards to what differences you want to know about.
Even Vumatel can be broken down into 2 different services: Trenched or Aerial
Higher speeds are available with Vumatel such as 200Mbps and 1Gbps.
They use different technologies(Active ethernet vs GPON), etc, etc hence why I say you need to ask specific questions.

I dont think you will go wrong with Cool Ideas on either Vumatel or SADV.
Im on SADV with Cool Ideas and I've had very little downtime. SADV technical support for my complex has been outstanding with regards to maintenance and notifications.

Thanks Fcon, I can definitely agree with you regarding support and maintenance with SADV. The physical infrastructure of SADV at our complex is far superior and support has been great compared to vumatel.

Our complex connects to vumatel aerial(fibre on posts) , gpon.

My concern is quality of service as some months I might download over a 1tb and others barely hit 500gb. Also, so far I've had the same speeds with VPN of 60mbps on 200 vox/Vuma and 100 cisp/sadv.

200mbps is really sweet when you want to pull a 50gb game.

A friend of mine is joining Cool Ideas but I cant remember the procedure. What does he need to do after the line provider (octotel) installed the CPE?

He requested the free modem from Cool Ideas but not sure if he should call them and inform them that the CPE is installed or what the next step is

Yeah just drop a mail to [email protected] that the line has been installed, Octotel is supposed to let us know but often it doesnt happen.

Thanks so much will do so. Should he include any detail in the mail?
Yeah just that Octotel have completed the install and the details of the account holder that's applied with us?
