So question.. Is anyone else having problems with upload speed since Rage? Cool Ideas with Vumatel.

Also, did the support go backwards since last time I used it? I sent them a screen shot showing my upload speed on my 20/20 package is 14mbps and they send back:
"Please note that we have studied the screenshot results and noticed that you are getting your full speed. "

wtf..
The rage network is unrelated to us, can you PM me a ticket number?

I see some of the SACS routing was fixed today by angola cables, Jhb to Brazil:
Pinging pe2-nc021.br.ftz.as37468.angolacables.ao [170.238.232.34] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 170.238.232.34: bytes=32 time=117ms TTL=55
Reply from 170.238.232.34: bytes=32 time=116ms TTL=55
:)

So doing some international tests again tonight, download is slightly better and upload is through the roof, lol.

Anything change after I logged my ticket @PBCool? First time I’ve ever seen such upload speeds to Europe since I’ve had my fibre line.

Can you please run this CloudPing and post the result for São Paulo.

ok but that is just angolacables that peer at NapAfrica JHB. Not CISP using the cable yet from what I can tell.

No changes from our side on this.

Yeap correct. Our SACS service ain't live yet.

@PBCool Please advise if this is normal practice? Just been prorata billed, but haven't received the router from you?

EDIT: In fact - I don't have account details or anything - so not sure why I'm being charged from today.
Has the router been couriered?

I have no idea - this is the email I got

There is no tracking number - but besides that, Im charged a pro-rata rate from yesterday, with no access to your network - and also paying for a Telkom similiar service with no opportunity to see if the fibre line is working before cancelling.

Do you have a ticket number or pm me the account details for me to have a look?

I'm not sure I have account details - haven't seen any.

I've been in communication with Duwane Peters - I emailed him at 2pm yesterday confirming everything was up from Octotel's side - as he said he'd be able to provide/provision some sort of test account so I can confirm everything is working before I cancel with Telkom - he has yet to respond.

Other than that - all I received after the above email was a pro-rata bill... so I'm now sitting with R1700 bill for internet this month, and R2000 for next month.

I do have a a fibre compatible router - which is running my VDSL connection - but I cannot just unplug it, its a serious mission of disconnecting water pipes, and moving a fridge, so want to make sure everything is working before I go through with that.

Cool Duwane will reach out.

@PBCool

Regarding angola cables, they have peering points in cape town and joburg yet its forced to route through joburg from cape town. Is it possible to get this changed? I'm assuming its something that needs to be changed from their side because its the same from other ISPs as well. Asking because im eagerly awaiting for cisp to start using SACS, but don't want this extra added latency when its live.
