Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

@PBCool signed up and was installed with OpenServe 100mbs fibre yesterday, had 40mbs VDSL with a WebAfrica capped account. All was good. Using the Cool Ideas account the performance on the fibre is horrid. There is packet loss. Remote desktop sessions are sluggish and often drop, both locally to clients and to Azure VM's. Went back to the Web Africa account and the difference is seriously noticeable. Speed tests locally to Telkom or Vodacom Business in Pretoria (based in Pretoria East) is horrid, lucky to get 20mbs, international speed tests are bad, London is about 6mbs. Vodafone in Ireland couldn't even get 1mbs. Where with Webafrica (IS) getting 30mbs to Ireland.
Can't work like this, please advise.
 
Yeah, I'm a bit concerned as well...

Signed up for 100mbps yesterday, and haven't had much above 40mbps consistently at all.... would make sense to just downgrade to 50mbps if there are capacity issues.

I got in excess of 20Mbps when connected to MTN LTE (basically 80% of max attainable upload speed on the MTN account).

Is it to an international server? Have you tried using the app as mentioned before to tweak your outbound TCP window?

Interesting... That's quite a new Vuma area in Durban.

Have you run any MTRs to see if there are any issues coming in with loss etc?

I'm also in Durban and not experiencing any issues on my line in Umhlanga.

Run nothing yet....

I'm concerned, but not going to jump up and down until the weekend once I've had a chance to play around with stuff and do some proper tests....
Its not so much issues per se, just a bit of a speed concerned.

It's the method of manipulating the TCP window on higher latency networks to get better performance, this is why I mentioned have you tried to do so as yet? It's got nothing to do with capacity but simply around the way Windows manages its outbound TCP window scaling.

Well why aren't you doing it? Cause 1.2Mbps isn't vaguely good enough for a 200Mbps account.

Never tinkered with Windows outbound TCP window scaling. Point me in the direction of a tutorial and I'll do it, sure! Don't see why the tweaking should be the customers responsibility but let's do it!! It's like me telling a customer I've just served raw chicken, "just stick it in the oven for 10 minutes longer at 220, should be fine".

It's a Windows issue, Linux TCP stack is naturally a million times better xD

So by that, it's like saying blame the soup for putting it into a bowl with a hole in the bottom ;)

I don't have the foggiest idea of how this outbound TCP limitation works. Clearly I have some reading up to do but I've posted 2 examples now of how upload speeds attained have been approximately 90% of the max attainable upload speed on that particular ISP's account.

MTN LTE consistently returned 1.5Mbps and Telkom LTE 2.0Mbps. Cool Ideas a paltry 1.2Mbps (5% of max line speed).
