On openserve? Should still be free.

So in summary having Fibre is nothing better than DSL except you can get much higher theoretical speeds over optical cable, but you are still limited by exchange congestion that is shared by all other technologies ( LTE, DSL etc etc ) at the end of the day?

No we just have to go through the motions with the providers, these networks are all very new so they get upgraded as capacity is required. We are awaiting another major change from OS in the next week or so.

Ok thanks - that's good to hear. I'll sit tight for another week or 2 and see if this change you speak of makes any difference at peak times.

Is this OS change affecting all areas or only certain ones? As per my last pm with you twitch streaming is 98% better with only a buffer every 2 hours or so.

It will have more of an affect to JHB users.

Definitely not Cool Ideas that is "over subscribed" more like there are a few areas where the Fibre operator is oversubscribed or haven't got the capacity out of the area which is resulting in slow speeds during peak times to international locations

If everybody was having the same issue then there would be ALOT more posts on here lol.

Doesn't make sense, local is fine. On a 100mbs OpenServe fibre, lucky to get 6mbs international.
Still have an Web Africa account and it flies on that ,also have a small little capped account with Axxess, and that is performing the best, especially during peak.

Either there is international routing issues or capacity.

Doing all tests from a cable.

Which area are you in?
 
Does coolideas offer a capped version of their fiber with frogfoot?

With Afrihost I can get 50megbit with 100gigs for R757 vs R909 with Coolideas. I really don't want to use Afrihost.

We unfortunately don't offer any capped products.

Previous forum posts indicate that it's a TP-Link WR840N for <100Mbps packages, and an Archer C20 for faster packages. I ordered a 200Mbps package (starting Nov 1), and received an Archer c20.
 
Anyone else having buffering issues in Randburg... my lines been terrible since 8p.
