That is because it is an OpenServe and CoolIdeas issue. Cannot play games in the evenings at all because the ping fluctuates terribly. During day it runs 100%, evenings is a lost cause.
Reason why I say it is OpenServe and CoolIdeas is because I'm playing on a pre-paid Afrihost account where the ping runs constantly between 180-190ms.

I get the same when switching to an Axxess prepaid account but was lead to believe this runs on a separate network to the fibre network as it is ADSL data and therefor not an indicator that the problem lies with the ISP.

My concern however is the lack of complaints from OpenServe users with other ISP's you's expect there to be a major outcry if this was affecting all OpenServe users?

Definitely an issue on my side / area here in Bloem then. But then again.. I swopped to my Vox fatpipe account now and can stream it without any issues in 1080p. This is really getting tedious now, paying R1500 a month for uncapped, but I have to resort to a capped account to be able to watch something in prime time.
Openserve are aware of the issues I've been escalating to executive level daily. The difficulty is the lack or urgency or any resources on hand over a weekend.

I'm seeing some seriously good performance on the new ont.

With the exception of peak hours and Iperf of course,

Edit: how this speed test result even possible? Ran it in my OP6...

The Wingnut Test:

1. One attempt at everything.
2. Local speedtest - auto select
3. London, first on the list.
4. New York, first on the list.
5. Bandwidth place test.
6. Testmy.net, manual test, 100MB.
7. Dslreports.
8. As you can see, even with shitty out of coverage RAIN LTE, all tests are similar, which is what I would expect out of an internet connection.

I will repeat this again at 8pm.

EDIT: I included a 100 packet mtr test to 5.39.226.191

You should throw in an iperf test for good measure...

@PBCool Please tell us what is going on in the back-end ? Is this congestion between openserve and CISP peering (over IPC)

I have been quite patient with you guys but from 6pm to 12 am my 100Mbps line is unusable (Over the last 7 days). If I need something downloaded or if I need to game online I keep buying capped data from Afrihost and have no issues on their network.

I will be submitting cancellation on the 29th of this month if this issue is not resolved on 28th. I understand openserve has no interest in the matter but if I get a better service from Afrihost I am jumping ship

Not to mention I pay R1499 for this 100Mbps line in addition now I have to pay afrihost for capped data. Totally frustrating

@PBCool Please also supply me with the openserve reference/ticket number

Puts it into perspective doesn't it?
Indeed. International is challenging when you stuck on the tip of Africa.

My mate in Aus reckons international sucks, so even first world country with first world infrastructure is going to battle to overcome geography... he's got entry level package over there though.

And that you might aswell just go with a 10mb line.

TCPOptimizer?
Shouldn't be necessary surely? I can't see this being on issue on my end... And it's a UDP test that is failing...
