The ont was swapped out but wasn't provisioned yet or configured or whatever it is they do. So wasn't syncing.

I actually told the youngster the ont was being replaced owing to packet loss. He was like, 'what's packet loss'?

Those results look much better than before though?

Too complicated as it's also layer3 in that case of which Vumatel wouldn't take responsibility for.
Ok but Vumatel has routing in place that bypass the isp for trenched. So they could host an iperf server to do that test without isp affecting the performance.
Like shop.vumatel.co.za doesnt route over the isp from my line.

Do they still have their own speed test from the portal?
I used this to prove packet loss on the vuma side before, using tcpdump and analyzing all the retransmit and out of order packets

This is how my logical brain works.

There still something wrong with your iperf results. Either something is not performing or you need better equipment on your side. Something is choking your speed.

What router do you have and is your cables Cat6?

I see that 6mb/s vs 180mb/s. 800k vs 21mb.

Enjoy your Rugby ;)

Cat6 yes, Archer D9. Do you think powering down the router might help? It's very odd... I ran the test from my htpc as well and same result. That's over wifi...

Think I'm going to power down the router for a minute and see if clearing the cache has any effect. I suspect not but seeing as you mention potential hardware deficiencies...
