Running mine off of a RCT 1000VA UPS as we speak - no problems. I'm sure any domestic generator will work fine too.
So in the event of a power outage, the fiber network doesn't get affected.
The traffic robots in the area stop working when there is load shedding, so I just wanted to be sure before I invest in a power generator or I am just better off using a LTE network

My fibre and connected router worked yesterday during load-shedding of the UPS for the 2 hours of power outage.

Most FNO's have battery backups at their street distribution boxes, Vumatel and TT Connect both worked while there was load shedding on our UPS backup.

I even bought a new router and twitch STILL doesn't work. I don't know what to do anymore...
I had AC power backup at my previous house. Fibre worked fine as long as the router and ONT were on. This is Openserve though.

Twitch unwatchable again tonight. This is becoming a nightly thing! 
@PBCool I've noticed something very suspect when running a trace in PingPlotter to Twitch hls server while watching a single live stream. My issue is intermittent buffering almost every evening.
Note "Count" and hop 5 and 6 and how they actually change in flight.
This is one continuous trace to the same destination.
Edit: Hop 6 just now changed to 5.18

IF you look at CISP's network announcement page you will see all kinds of vumatel outages lately. I believe vuma is to blame for all the cr@p that is going on, looks like they on holiday already

Nope I'm on Octotel. I've been having twitch issues for a month now. Seriously annoying. Every night between 8-10PM my throughput to twitch drops to 300 kB/s.

Mine was also fine during 2hrs of loadshedding:
I have 2 of the following :
RCT 1000VA
1st for running:
a) Ubiquiti US8-8-60W Gb 8-Port PoE Switch
b) Raspberri Pi 3B+ with a 2.5" 4TB External drive connected to it (Used as a NAS)
c) Ubiquiti USG-3P (Router)
c) Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR ( via PoE to the Switch)
Total draw for the above = 5%
2nd one for running :
a) ONT (Black Nokia from OS )
b) Laptop
Total draw : 2%
So as you can see they can take a lot more load, but then battery life might not be great...

Can also vouch for RCT. My ASUS router, Fibre ONT, Ubiquiti AP-AC-PRO and Western Digital NAS are all running on a RCT 650VA and it gets through a 2,5 hour shed without issue.
