More likely they had to resplice when they installed the new one, fixing the issues of shitty splicing.

Refferred friend to CI. After waiting for a week... no progress in moving line.
6 days since latency ticket logged. 1st response illogical & poor troubleshooting and also just no response whatsoever after that.

You're losing your favourite ISP status in my eyes. Getting the 2018 award seems to have done CISP no favours :mad::thumbsdown:

When connecting tot he City of Cape Town website, I see the traffic is going through Enetworks (for CPT) instead of through the NapAfrica peering:

a) Ubiquiti US8-8-60W Gb 8-Port PoE Switch
b) Raspberri Pi 3B+ with a 2.5" 4TB External drive connected to it (Used as a NAS)
c) Ubiquiti USG-3P (Router)
c) Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR ( via PoE to the Switch)

Total draw for the above = 5%

2nd one for running :

a) ONT (Black Nokia from OS )
b) Laptop

Total draw : 2%

So as you can see they can take a lot more load, but then battery life might not be great...

so this should be perfect for me as I am only powering up my ONT device /Router and AP. I wanted to power up my Tv with my Tv box but I guess it wont handle all the power with the UPS

TV Box might still be OK to hook up to that - but I will not hook up the TV as well, it will never last, also - whats the point of having the TV box powered, but not the TV

This is announced as 41.208.0.0/18 , which isn't announced by default at any of the naps by MTN, which is why.

Yeah it is load balancing however not to a different endpoint server, simply different routers along the way.

I wonder if anybody can confirm if this load balancing to Twitch hls servers occurs on other ISPs too?

My issues with Twitch have just become worse and worse over the past few weeks to the point of it being unwatchable almost at any time of the day.

Something about having constantly changing routes to the destination for real-time video traffic just doesn't sound right to me. o_O

Join the club. I've been having issues for over a month now. Every night between 8-10PM throughput from twitch drops to 300-400kB/s.

This was the same twitch stream I was watching one night that just "decided" to no longer work. I got not clue how to explain it. Just know you aren't alone.

Openserve popped by just now and swapped out my white ONT box for the new black Nokia one. The difference is quite remarkable. Speed tests haven't really gone anywhere - latency might be slightly better. But the difference is clear as day when browsing the web. Websites pop into view instantly and the responsiveness feels like when I first got fibre.

Surely no one on Openserve fibre should be using the old white ONT box.
