So, now what?
 
@PBCool - is the routing to South America and USA in its final state with that new cable?

I still get > 200ms to nearly anywhere in Brazil. If the latency there is supposed to be ~100ms, can it not then hop up into the US and theoretically achieve around 150ms too, or am I oversimplifying?

The advertised latency was ~100ms from Cape Town to Fortaleza, and ~160ms from Cape Town to Miami. So the more realistic traffic is in Sao Paulo, which is then another 60ms from Fortaleza for instance. So depends on the location.

We will have more control of the traffic once the DC in Fortaleza has been built which should be in March next year, we can then deploy kit at each location.

On another note: Why has CISP not yet started offering 1gb packages? There are already other ISP’s offering these. What’s the hold up?

Yes. It was better, took longer to hit the "peak period" issues but it still happened.

You can see here at 8:30PM how throughput went from consistent, to patchy to right at the end there doing its usual 300 kB/s. By the time 9PM rolled around Twitch wasn't worth watching due to buffering.
